we ended up losing money again (like payoneer, first choice ... etc) .... that's what it's about ...

OnlyFans’ investment options may have opened up with its announcement, while paradoxically shrinking due to their pending loss of growth by shutting off a major vertical on the platform. The biggest risk factors to a business like OnlyFans remain the likes of Visa and MasterCard cutting it off, as well as a high level of charge-backs and fraud — not Sand Hill Road cutting a check.
But for now, those suffering most from the announcement are creators, especially sex workers, who find themselves scrambling after the sudden news. “They are good people, they are adults, and this cuts them off at the knees,” says Banister. “I am not sure where they go next after this.”
Would anyone back OnlyFans now, without its problematic golden goose? The company may struggle to overcome its reputation, even if growth rebounds, investors say. But several investors said they were confident that enough peers would be interested in its financial upside to accept its history, provided it can show a path for growth again. “Anyone who would back [vaping business] JUUL would back OnlyFans,” one quipped.

Ew. There's a lot to unpack there but just ew.From that Forbes article:
Overcome its “reputation” for what? For allowing grown, law-abiding adults a place to earn a living? I get what they’re saying, but it’s so condescending IMO.
I also got a chuckle out of the part about enough investors being “interested in its financial upside to accept its history.” I hope they don’t hurt themselves bending over backwards to justify their grab for a piece of OnlyFans while at the same time shaming people who did nothing wrong.
They are not referring to that and it was explained in another article today.Overcome its “reputation” for what? For allowing grown, law-abiding adults a place to earn a living?
“I’ve met with companies because I think they’ll be really cool meetings, knowing there is 0% chance I’d want to invest,” He speaks the truth.
Sorry if this is mentioned but a quick question RE: Fansly.
OnlyFans charged 20% extra on all purchases, so a $20 subscription would be $24, does Fansly charge any extra for purchases and subscriptions and if so do you know what the % is?
i appreciate anyone who knows
Onlyfans doesn't do that, though? Just local tax. (As @Brit said it must have been a VAT thing?)Sorry if this is mentioned but a quick question RE: Fansly.

Ah, for some reason I can read it fine:OnlyFans founder blames banks for ban on porn
Tim Stokely says Bank of New York Mellon ‘flagged and rejected’ all interbank wires linked to websitewww.ft.com
Wait do you mean that the site takes a 20% cut from creators? Subs and tippers aren't affected by that, it comes out of our end. If someone paid $20 for a sub the model would make $16.Sorry if this is mentioned but a quick question RE: Fansly.

It was weird. In one Chrome window I could read it fine, but in another I couldn't. So I posted the screenshots for everyone to see because fuck news site paywalls lol.Wait do you mean that the site takes a 20% cut from creators? If you're talking about something else though I have no idea what you're on about.
EDIT: @AmberCutie what browser do you use and are you using any script/add blockers? Sometimes disabling javascript lets you get around news media paywalls.

I think most camsites and video sites have to oblige to the EU vat taxing now, so i would assume it will be the same on fansly. The upside for models ( i know as a fellow EU citizen it sucks lol) like myself is, that i can prove to the tax Institution, that the sites tax customers with vat and don't pay it out to me, so i don't have to pay vat, when doing my taxes and just do income tax at least. When I subscribe or send a "tip" on the site, it charges me an extra 20%.
For example, one model I follow is an $8 subscription each month, every month regardless of if it's direct debit/auto-renew or I manually do it, it will charge $9.60 instead of $8.00 because it charges the extra 20% for VAT.
The same applies to me if I buy a PPV video. Let's say a model sends in DM a video she is selling, or I have requested a custom video/photo, if I click to buy it, it adds an extra 20% on top of whatever the price tag is that the model has set.
LMAO WHAT
LMAO WHAT
I'm guessing once OF saw all that money going bye bye they had a quick change of heart. After creators lost a bunch of their subscribers, because these dudes jumped the gun and already unsubscribed. What a shitshow.
Not sure I trust this yet. I've already started moving all my content to JFF and I think I will continue doing so until we have something more concrete. I'm fine staying, but yeah, a lot of subs were lost last week.
Seems to be a crappy PR stunt to push their new SFW app.OnlyFans is apparently banning depictions of ‘sexually explicit conduct’ starting in October, per this report: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-sexually-explicit-videos-starting-in-october
Sounds like they’re caving to the wishes of potential investors. What is notable is they claim nude photos and videos will still be allowed “provided they’re consistent with OnlyFans’ policy,” which seems pretty vague considering it could mean the difference between a model making a living or getting banned.
Models, curious what you think about this, especially those of you that have OF.
They've basically destroyed all of their credibility with us now though, even if they did actually embrace their role as a SW platform in a meaningful way it's already too late. They've fucked themselves royally and I doubt most of the people jumping ship will want to come back. I sure as hell don't.Seems to be a crappy PR stunt to push their new SFW app.
I'm royally pissed off because of the calamity they caused and fear they incited in so many people. As a porn star, I'll be fine no matter what. My concern is with sex workers who were using this platform as a safer means to income. Like street hookers. Literally. That said, seems they're retracting their statement *palm in face*. My whole thing with this is also like...who the FUCK is going to go to Onlyfans for yoga or painting? lol. They have the scarlet letter (I see it as a good thing) on them as a sex platform. Might as well embrace the people who made them billions. If not, models will just migrate to one or a few of the dozens of other fan club sites out there.
What in the actual hell is going on?? Did they not realize everyone would leave their platform and now they are backpedaling?? Are they trying to create drama and this is part of some twisted marketing scheme??
Maybe you models have a private email more detailed. It reads suspended. Until further notice? Have no idea. Not that counts but has the Tos changed? Can someone please tell me what to make of this new change?
