As the title says.

When this user tips in the room their tip amounts do not trigger matching items on the tip menu, or go toward any running goals.

How is this possible? They are not fake tip GIFs. They show as normal tips in the chat pane and the correct tipping sounds are played to match the tip amounts.

double check if they are real by checking your token stat's
Is the user really in the room or tipping from an other page ? (e.g. DM window)

I cannot check the stats as it is not my room, I am just another user.

The tipping user is in the room. They are in the User List and they did type some chat into the room chat pane after they tipped.

This is not a one-off occurance. It happened a few days ago in the same model's room with the same user.

For V1 apps, tips made from the DM panel, i.e., outside the room, do not trigger app/bot events. Even if the user is in the room, ask them if they are tipping from the room controls or the DM panel.

I didn't know that one, that's so weird I wonder, you would think that if they coded the arrival differently it was on purpose but you said it's just v1 apps so super confusing. In v2 do you have to code it differently to track DM tips?

No, it doesn't require any special handling in V2 apps. DMs were added around the same time as the V2 framework and the events probably weren't retrofitted into the V1 framework because CB has indicated that they want to make V1 legacy.
