Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
I watched some of his parole hearing today and he should rot in prison as far as I'm concerned. At one point, he said he's not a criminal, a good guy, and pretty much a straight shooter who has made a few mistakes and blames his recent incarceration due to trusting the wrong people.

What say you?

I first became aware of OJ from his "Naked Gun" experiences. I thought he was funny. But apparently he wasn't such a great guy in reality. He seemed to be a domestic violence kind of guy which I found out later. It is amazing how the silver screen can make a person look and it is amazing how in these days a star couldn't get away with beating anyone without some question (ultimately snowballing into every major news channel covering a person who is a domestic violence person).

I don't remember those commercials where he jumped over suitcases and stuff to get to a airplane. I sort of remember the OJ chase and trial while I was in college as my roommate had it on all the time. I wasn't really in to it because at that time I was all idealistic and all and believed in the justice system. It was an amazing revelation how the courtroom works for those in the upper echelon of society.

Apparently he served his time in prison for holding a person in a hotel room by force with other people because that guy was selling something that OJ owned. It would have been amazing if those pieces of memorabilia would have went to the Goldmans or Nicole Brown families and that is why he was forcing the guy, but for whatever reason, I don't think he was. It was a wrongful death case that the families of the victims of Goldman and Nicole Brown won that determined that he should pay monetarily for the crimes for some reason (again, not sure what is up with the law, as this is amazingly weird seeing as how he was not convicted in the big publicized trial).

So he was great in prison. OK. He is older. Hardly a threat (hopefully he doesn't do the domestic violence thing again). He was deemed innocent in the first trial, as was determined by a jury of peers, so I hope he continues to find the killer/killers of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman as he stated he would (tough for me to type that but, you know, he went thru the justice system and prevailed). I also hope he continues to fulfill his duties and pay reparations as per his conviction in the wrongful death civil trial.

Do I think he cares about Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown or their families? No. But apparently OJ's kids love him (which must be tough to do given all the press).

What I don't want to see is OJ making an appearance on any of those Kardashian shows. I'm not a watcher, but I could see this as a ratings grab. Even if the ratings are dropping to abhorrent levels, I just don't want to see it (even though he is innocent in one trial and guilty in another). That would be the lowest of the low.

The chance to hold him accountable for murders ended 20 years ago. For the crime that he's being paroled on, he's served. I believe he is a murderer. I believe he terrorized his wife, but our justice system is set up to let domestic abuse carry on until someone dies. Further, our justice system is set up to let rich people get away with murder. The only special or different thing about the OJ Simpson case is that he is OJ Simpson.

It made me sick seeing him tell them he was a good man before the trial stuff. It would have killed me to sit there and not say shit to him about that. He was an abuser. He beat women. To sit there and lie like it never happened and wasn't proven is bullshit. It should have been brought up and he should have been questioned on it. No he wasn't in jail for that but he just proved he was a liar and should have been called on it. Plus there's the fact of him saying before he knew of no guns and now saying he did. He lied for his plea deal and they didn't bring that up either. I think he should rot in prison. I feel for those kids of his because they know he killed their mom. I also think he should be denied living anywhere but Cali where he will be forced to pay on the civil suit. I don't think he should be allowed to dodge that shit.

I want to point out that he was not found "innocent" but "not guilty." It might seem like semantics, but it is actually a pretty big difference. It means that the prosecution did not prove that he committed the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. This does not mean that he is innocent or even that it wouldn't be possible to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...just that the prosecution in that case did not meet their burden of proof. I think it is almost universally agreed now that he did kill her (didn't he write a book about how he would have done it if he had done it or something like that?).

I also think that being old does not make him any less of a threat. Many older men still commit domestic violence.

Apparently he's been told that he can drink and use weed while on parole.

Uh, excuse me? No parollees are allowed to drink while on parole, regardless of offense. You're in for theft? No drinking. Weapon charges? No drinking. Distribution? No drinking.

I totally agree, but, I was thinking that he wouldn't be a threat because he is amazingly infamous so I figured that he would be a person that women would avoid at all costs (I get avoided a ton and I am a vegan pacifist so I was thinking a guy with his history would be ever so easy to not be involved with so as to avoid being attacked in a domestic violence situation). I didn't state that clearly--it just seems like with the camera lens on him at all times he would almost be forced to become a non-violent person or else go back to the pokey.

Still, even Charlie Manson almost got married while in prison and I know women loved to send Ted Bundy correspondence while he was incarcerated. So crazy is crazy and some people run in that world and, yes, you are right, he might meet a woman that he can beat up some day and possibly kill.
