Hey everyone!

There's been a lot of tension between me and the boyfriend due to my work with MFC. Mostly because of me getting naked and what not. So I'm just curious if non-nude models do well? If so, what do they do on cam?

I couldn't find any discussion on this in the forum, so if it's already been talked about my bad!

Some non-nude models do very well. It seems like it is a more challenging path to success as a model though to be non-nude. Even more creativity is required. Many of the most popular non-nude models I think of on MFC, didn't start out non-nude. Once they built up a good fan base, then they changed what they do. A non-nude model from the start shouldn't expect to be as popular as MaryJane/Raffles4Fun/WhateverHerNameIsNow. Don't have to do that well to make a living at it though.

In non-nude shows there are a lot of games, raffles, dancing, slow stripping/teasing, hand bras, covering themselves with other things (food, lotion, bubbles, etc), puppet shows, story time, etc... Some non-nude models even masturbate but put the cam on their face only. Some wear sheer or mesh clothing you can see through but still call themselves non-nude. There are endless possibilities with enough imagination. :thumbleft:

I switched to non-nude, and luckily I did so after I had a decent fanbase already established.* It is drastically more difficult to make the same amount of money, and get the same amount of people in your room, when you're non-nude. I used to get bored/annoyed/pissed off, and I could just pose with a flattering angle of my butt (or whatever) while my face was off-cam so that I could roll my eyes, sigh, make faces, whatever to relieve that emotion while the viewers couldn't see. Now that I'm non-nude, it's so much more of a struggle because I can't be "off-cam" for long, because they get bored. So I have to contain all of my frustration. I used to be able to put on sexy makeup, do my hair prettily, and get on cam. And even if I was not feeling super bubbly, I could still make my goals. Now, however, if I'm feeling sad/angry/tired at all, they can tell and my earnings reflect that.

That being said, I *love* being non-nude. I have so much more self-confidence now, because I know the regulars are there for my BRAINS and not just my ass. There's also a substantial decrease in the "open bobs, bb" type now. However, camming has gotten more stressing and emotionally-exhausting because of A) all the extra hours I've had to put in to make the same $ I was making before and B) I can't "turn off." I have to always be the most interesting, exciting model possible because at any given time your next big tipper could find the room. And most guys don't stick around long if you're clothed. Unless you're doing/talking about something that is so out of the ordinary that it makes them pause and wonder, "What's going on here?"

You can make good money being non-nude. Some (few, but it happens) of the top models are non-nude, and they are living very comfortably. However, it is going to be extremely hard to start out (with no fanbase) as non-nude and "make it." So, if you want to keep camming, discuss with your boyfriend what his boundaries are. Maybe he'd be ok if you just kept underwear on. You could be a tease model who doesn't get fully naked (watch Tesla or Kickaz for examples). You can definitely make camming a real job regardless of your state of undress, you just have to put forth the effort and hours.

*This is my experience with the switch and everything that came after, although it might be different for another girl.

Iris is my favorite non nude model, so I'd heed her very wise words carefully. The other characteristic I've noticed about successful non nude models is they are almost all very funny, and whip smart. So I'd ask yourself is this how my friends would describe me. Also they tend to be older mid 20s at least and often 30+. Pretty 18 year old with good bodies like yourself are fun to watch especially when they are naked. :-D. However, in the same way that guys in their 20s are attractive to 18 and 19 year old girls due to their maturity and life experience, the same thing is true for men; most of us prefer older woman as conversation partners.

It is also worth thinking about the long term consequences. There are already recorded shows of you naked on the internet, now they aren't something that are likely to be found unless somebody is specifically looking for you. But stopping get naked now isn't going to make them disappear and future employers are still going to assume you did porn work if they bother to run background checks.
You have pretty good camscore for camming for less than 3 weeks, realistically it is likely to drop if you switch to non nude work. Make sure the guy is worth taking a a big paycut for.

Thought about this all afternoon and I'm just gonna throw it out there. Am I the only one who finds it (cannot find the best choice of words) "not so good" to quit a job for a partner (not even spouse)?

OK, now to the OP: There are some awesome non-nude models and some "sometimes nude" models who only get nude in private shows. They definitely have to work harder, but they are also quite often the more interesting models on MFC.

You're not the only one. That was the first thing I thought of when I read this. Known many models who changed what type of modeling they do, or quit modeling because of a significant other. Majority of the time those relationships ended shortly after, and the model returned to what she was doing before. Maybe they will defy the odds though.

If your boyfriend is the jealous type, then its not going to work out nude or non nude. If you become non nude he will just become jealous you talk to guys all day. I'm sure there have been non nude models that started non nude from the start. But you do need to be really creative and talkative. You won't be making the same amount you are now, but that could change, who really knows? I love non nude models because in my opinion a girl doesn't need to masturbate to be sexy. You should definitely analyze if making this decision is even worth it. What do YOU prefer?

I don't think it's a bad thing to quit a job for your partner. To me "partner" implies a parternership; I wouldn't date a guy who knew I was a camgirl and then later told me to quit, but I think it's important to communicate and make sure both partners are comfortable, especially if you are dating someone before you started camming. Ultimately, if you can't come to a compromise, and it's either keep the job or keep the boyfriend, I guess that's a personal decision and depends on tons of factors. To each their own, different priorities. There's nothing "not so good" to me, maybe if you see it as controlling or something? But I don't, in most situations, I think it's just finding a comfort level for both parties.

Really can you name me some popular non nude models under say 22. Olivia's age is listed as 33. Kickaz has hers listed at 45? (amazing) and Posie is 44. Looking at that true non nude models in the "non nude fan" a lot don't have their ages listed, and we can quibble what mid 20s means (I think it's 23-27), but I don't think any are 18 like the OP is.

Because I really, really don't believe 'most' MFC members prefer older women to have conversations with. That might be your personal opinion. Others are more open towards girls who are 18, 19 or in their early twenties. On MFC I've had amazing, long conversations with lots of different men in their 30s/40s/50s from 2011 to 2014 and I was 20 when I started. They were open to talking to me regardless.

Yeah, I can't say that I ever noticed anything to indicate that age is any kind of factor in which models the guys want to talk with.

I agree, for me, good conversations don't come from age, but from common interests, sense of humor, and even similar world views. Just to name a few.

I'm almost 100% sure that neither Kickaz or Posie are in their 40s. Probably not even in their 30s.

My favorite model of all time went through multiple non-nude phases (and many where she was topless but otherwise non-nude). So I've seen the transition from nude->non-nude and vice-versa several times.

Switching to non-nude is tough. You almost certainly won't make as much money, unless you already have a strong group of regulars who are there mostly for the conversation and other things that don't depend on nudity. And even then, you may notice some of those members drift away over time. Some will say that they don't care whether or not you're nude, and they may even think they don't care, but over time they may come to realize that they miss that aspect. I've seen it happen multiple times.

Topless-only (either allowing people to tip for boob flashes or being topless the whole time) can be easier than being fully non-nude.

The biggest challenge for non-nude models is finding things to do for all the time they're on cam. Keeping viewers engaged is a challenge for all models, but it's extra hard for non-nude models. (a) because stripping & grabbing a dildo isn't available as a backup (although some "non-nude" models will take groups/privates at times), and (b) because your viewers will mostly be guys who are looking for long-term conversation partners. So you need to be able to come up with new topics of conversation every day to keep people interested.

You need to have a group of regulars who not only enjoy talking to you, but who also enjoy talking to each other. All the successful non-nude models I've seen have very strong communities. This means you have to work hard to foster such relationships between members and keep the basics/guests under control. Note that this doesn't necessarily mean muting guests/basics all the time. In fact, many non-nude models find that they need to engage guests/basics to keep a high enough level of conversation going in the room. Nothing hurts a non-nude model more than a room that's devoid of chat.

Most non-nude models end up depending on a core group of regulars for the vast majority of their tips. It's always dangerous for a model to depend on a small group for the majority of her income, but it's an unfortunate reality for many non-nude models. Part of it is due to the lower pool of members who will be interested in non-nude models, but part of it is that there's a certain size above which conversation becomes difficult.

In any case it's important to keep up a diverse group of tippers. If you find yourself depending on one or two guys to keep you afloat, weird situations develop. The power balance gets shifted in dangerous ways and it can make for uncomfortable situations. (I've been there. It's bad.)

Coming up with reasons for people to tip is also both difficult and important. Some guys will tip just to talk to you, but the vast majority won't. So you'll need to be creative.

Quite a few of the successful non-nude models have significant musical talent. Live performances of music can make very good camming material, and can fill lots of time when you've run out of conversation, but you do need to be good (and I mean really good) to make that work.

I have noticed that many of the more successful non-nude models are older (as in, above 25 or so). I have my own theories about why that is, but I'm not sure I want to get myself involved in that particular discussion.

Pixie, however, is totally 52! :)

I'll get in on the whole "changing your show because of your partner" subject. Yeah, I was one of those few who did think my relationship was worth more than showing my vagina. However, had he flat out MADE me choose him or camming (after I'd been camming long before him), I would have ended it. But asking me to become non-nude wasn't him controlling me. It was us coming to a compromise. I wanted to cam. He knew I wouldn't back down from that. But he really couldn't handle knowing that so many other people were seeing my goods. Of course, he tried to be open-minded about it, but it became such a big problem between us, that there was no way we'd stay together if I kept my lifestyle going that way. So we compromised, in which I still cammed, but I kept the main parts covered.

Since then, things have been WONDERFUL. Someone suggested that there would always be "something he'd complain about," but for us, there wasn't. I mean, yeah, he gets depressed that I make more money than him (guy egos), but he can admit now that it was just him being insecure. If I wanted to switch back to teasing/nude, he would probably be ok with it now, now that he knows and understands that I put him first. That he's the one I cuddle with at night. (I doubt I would ever switch back though, because I'm happier now.) Some relationships won't pass the hard parts, some will. But it's up to each person to decide how far they're willing to go for their own relationship. What's it worth to you? What could it turn into?

Statistically less than 20% of American men are married to woman who are more than 5 years younger than themselves.

As for your own experience. You are nude model on MFC which is going to be a much different experience than the OP is talking about. I bet if you went the through your chat log and eliminated all reference to getting you naked, compliments on various body parts generally made when you were naked, questions about what you did in private and videos and pretty much all discussion about sex, your chat log would be cut at least 1/2 (i.e. most). I'm sure you had long conversation with members, how many of those conversation occurred with members who hadn't seen you naked?

I assume that the OP is mostly camming for financial reasons, so the money really matters. I am sure that majority of the money you got was for hitting naked countdowns, privates and selling sex videos. The OP would have none of those option if she goes along with her boyfriend wishes.

But don't take my word for it, try being a non nude model for a couple of months and see how many new regulars you get. ;)

I'm not say guys don't want to have talks with pretty 18 and 19 year girls. I am saying that it is much harder for 18 year girl, barely out of high school like the OP, to hook a guy into paying to have a conversation without using nudity as a bait. Even a 23 year old woman has been out on her own, been to university, traveled, had some weird jobs, or crazy experience which are entertaining. Now if the OP has some kind of talent like singing, or guitar playing, or bellying dancing than yes an 18 year could make it as non nude model. Iris among other things reads kids stories out loud but she is quite a good actress. I bet a 23 year Lily would do better as non nude model than the 20 year old. Anyway I don't think it is coincidence that the top non nude models, with higher camscore and higher room counts are older woman.

I know this is a thread about non-nude models. That doesn't mean I can't voice my doubts when you claim that MFC guys are generally more interested in conversation with older than with younger models. That was a general statement by you, not limited to NN or N models.

You know what, I really don't think so. I'll happily do that with 3 chat logs of random shifts that I've had and report back with the results as soon as I have the time, though. :thumbleft:

I'm sure you had long conversation with members, how many of those conversation occurred with members who hadn't seen you naked?
You're implying that they wouldn't have chatted with me about non-sexual/non-nudity-related topics if they hadn't seen me naked first.

I assume that the OP is mostly camming for financial reasons, so the money really matters. I am sure that majority of the money you got was for hitting naked countdowns, privates and selling sex videos. The OP would have none of those option if she goes along with her boyfriend wishes.
I'll admit I was somewhat off-topic. I merely responded to what you generalized, about the age thing. I didn't keep the OP's issue in mind; it was a side-note and not related to the original post.

Those are all reasonable arguments, but I still don't think most guys think that way. I think it's much more likely to just stumble into a room without caring how old the model is, and then finding out whether conversations with her are interesting/stimulating/fun or not. I really don't think guys specifically go for a certain age when looking for conversation. (Besides - no, LILY would never do remotely well as a non-nude model, no matter if 20 or 23 or 30 ;) )

I went non-nude for about... 8 months I think? I got a ton of new regulars in that time and did pretty well for myself. (I eventually became a nude softcore model again though, cuz I hated having to be so calculated in everything I did, making sure I kept certain bits hidden and what not).

I do think age matters a tiny bit though. When i was telling people I was 18 no one had any interest beyond "do you do daddy/daughter role plays in pvt? Are you a virgin? Do you want my dick in your mouth?" etc. When I started being honest about my age (at the time I was 22, now 24) people actually became more interested in having real conversations.

(My experience is probably weird though. I've never been the gyno shot type model and 95% of my shows have always been something really creative and softcore. I treated cumshows as a cop-out because I was drained on creativity.)

I don't disagree with that. I don't think age is big factor for how most guys stumble into rooms, most don't care that much and many of us realize that models fudge on their age. Guys go into primarily based on the attractiveness of models and what she is doing sexually, plus all of the other techniques that MFC uses to funnel traffic into top models room.
The difficulty for a non-nude model is keeping the guys coming back and that's where age matters. A 18 year old just isn't going to be able to discuss college, shitty bosses, the hassle of moving.best sexual experiences, like a 23 year old. If you are say 30 year guy, and your favorite band, video game, movie is 10 years old, or who is better BJ Penn or Georges St-Pierre, a 23 year old cam model might have been familiar with these things as a teenager, the 18 year old will have been a child.

The two group of guys where age does matter are the MILF lovers, and the guys looking for the barely legal experience. Those guys really aren't looking to spend money on 18 year to talk to her.
Which is my real point, being 18 (especially a real 18) is generally a good thing on MFC, but it isn't for a non nude model.

Marriage and porn/conversation are two very different things.
I don't think my boyfriend would date an 18yo (he's in his mid 30's), but he sure did enjoy talking to them on MFC! And it was never sexual. His primary love is cars and there were a few girls under 20 with the same passion.

I don't think anyone should be judging what life experiences people have had on there age. By the time I was 18, I had dropped out of school, hitch hiked my way through 3 states, partied like a rock star, and met a ton of interesting people. And there are plenty of people at 23, 27, 45 even who have barely even lived outside of there town! Age doesn't make a difference at all. I guess people can assume things, but that just makes a ass out of u and me.

Yeah, this is why I usually say that age, in the grand scheme of things, is really not all that important a statistic to know about a person. Knowing that I'm 30 years old doesn't tell you anything about me other than the fact that I managed to stave off death for three decades and counting. Anything more, and you're going to need to look at other, far more influential factors like where I grew up, when I grew up, my education, etc..

I know this usually said in a far different context, but age really is just a number. I've seen people connect despite the fact that one has lived over a decade longer and I've seen others who had trouble connecting with their supposed peers because they were at a very different level of emotional maturity.

While this is very true, there are norm that people can use, hence why I thanked his post. 50% of 18 year-olds don't have as much life experience as most 23 year-olds.

However, in defense of the point of everyone here saying "18-year-olds can have something interesting to talk about", by the time I was 18 I had:

-lived with 6 different foster families, in 1 group home, and a bunch with my biological family
-learned a lot about mental health issues due to my biological mother
-attempted suicide, unknown to pretty much anyone but myself
-gone to boarding school for two years and one summer school

So yeah, I could talk at length about moving. I could talk about some political issues. I could talk about foster care, and child care, and mental health. I was deeply interested in the education of our young, and my main goal was to become a math teacher.

And to Leon's point: I was one of those. I couldn't talk to most of my peers. I got along just fine with most 10 year olds, and got along really well with those in the 25-40 age range, but other teenagers? Young adults? They were like aliens to me.
