Niche markets that aren't fetish?

So I've been reading up a lot on camming, deciding if I want to take the plunge or not. I read an interesting article on Salon about a Harvard grad turned cam model. She said in addition to the erotic play she did a lot of intellectual discussions, reading erotica, etc and created a bit of a niche for herself. I read another article about a successful nude accordion player singing shanties.

My question is how would one go about finding a market for that? Has anyone here done it? I used to be an English teacher abroad and I figure there is a some market for lonely businessmen who'd want to learn English from a girl in the buff (have you seen the articles about Koreans watching people eat dinner, not erotic at all, just eating and chatting!?) or perhaps a nude ukulele player/singer, erotica reciting, etc.

Any advice or stories would be much appreciated!

Oh marvelous! I wish I could play the accordion. Damn cool!! Which site do you think is the best platform for that kind of thing? For teaching English I'd probably need my own website and I have no idea how to make that happen so will shelf the idea for the time being (maybe pay someone to design me one later). I tried to google to see if it existed and just came up with a bunch of teacher sex scandal articles. Oh boy. lol.

Many tutors and even therapists offer their services via Skype. You could set up a legitimate business account via paypal.
HOWEVER never use paypal for adult services.

If you want to do this via a camsite and more sexually, I suggest a site where you could schedule your appointments/private sessions. MFC, chaturbate or streammate could work.

Well "legit" teaching sites I've seen only pay from 8-10/hr, 15 at best and I've applied to a few with no luck bc the competition is high. I know I could have my own teaching biz and make more than that but I'm not savy about getting clients or web design, esp with a language barrier. In person tutoring abroad I got paid 50/hr but of course being on the web makes it cheaper, esp with the website taking a huge cut for providing students. Actually the guy I tutored got a pretty big crush on my friend that tutored him as well and invited her places all the time. And a lot of men in Asia use language exchange sites to try to find an English speaking girlfriend. That's what made me think of the potential of combining nude caming and teaching and make even more money.

I also thought about not therapy per-say, as I'm not licensed, but "advice" caming as well.

I guess maybe I'm not explaining myself all that clearly but I do mean erotically combining things, hence me asking on this forum. And yes, no way I'd use paypal for adult work!

I think there are some cool ideas here! I bet MyFreeCams or Chaturbate would be the best place for you, since they allow off site contact.

Maybe just start camming on one of those sites as just a camgirl who does the "standard" stuff. Getting nude and/or doing cumshows if you're comfortable with that, chatting, hanging out, etc. On your profile you can offer up other services. Like "40 tokens/minute for a nude advice session," "50 tokens/minute for nude ukulele show," "60 tokens/minute nude ESL lesson" etc. Obviously choose whatever price/time you want for them, those were just examples. Mention it in chat sometimes, so people who don't check your profile know it's there.

I don't really think pushing yourself into a niche is for the best. Even the models you mentioned do other things besides just what their most well-known quirk is. Being well rounded will give people a more "real" sense of you, not to mention you'll appeal to more people!

As for the "standard" stuff, I'm still deciding. Personally, morally, I see nothing wrong with it, I'm even excited by the idea, but I've spent the last few days researching the hell out of this and all of the articles of teacher's getting fired and hitting the news for porn work have scared me silly. On the other hand I'm not so sure teaching is a profession I'm necessarily going to stick with either and all of my other ideas for profession would not be so affected by an outing.

Makes me want to try to very tough road of non-nude. But I guess I'd get fired even if I was discovered as a non-nude so at that point it's just a judgement worry...

If you want to try without too much risk, chaturbate allows you to wear a mask while you perform That way it won't come back to haunt you if you decide to stick with teaching.

I'm not trying to pressure you into being a nude model, because I think there are plenty of wonderful successful tease and non-nude girls out there! Members like seeing happy models, first and foremost.

However, if you're afraid of it effecting your future career choices, I don't think you should cam at all. Regardless of what you do on a camsite, if someone finds out you worked for MyFreeCams/Chaturbate/etc, they'll just assume the "worst." Not to mention the less you want to be outed, the more likely bitter video recorders/screen cappers will be to try to out you. It's not like the schoolboard will say, "Oh well she worked on a porn site, but it's not like she showed her tits!"
