Over the next few weeks, I plan on revamping my music collection that I use for MFC playlists. I'd love some input for new songs from those who know my general taste in music. As open minded as I try to be about other peoples' music preferences, I won't put something in my playlist that I don't want to hear on a daily basis.

Here are a few things I plan on adding already (I will be editing this to update when I think of more):

Added already:

Jesus Christ Brand New
Wait Earshot
Someone Earshot
Ain't No Rest for the Wicked Cage the Elephant
Back Against the Wall Cage the Elephant
Fine Again Seether
Careless Whisper Seether
The Tempest Pendulum
Burn, Burn Lostprophets

Couple songs from Godsmack would be cool, like Voodoo, Speak, and The Enemy. Pretty much anything by Disturbed. 311 and Sublime are good bands too (I posted the 311 song Amber in your profile on MFC, check it out if you haven't yet done so please).

Ahhh, now that I listened to it I recognize it. I've never been a 311 fan though. Sublime used to be one of my favorites when I was a lot younger, but I feel they are so overplayed throughout the years that I'm tired of them. I might use one or two songs from them, max, in my list.

I will look up Godsmack and Disturbed. I haven't really heard much of them.

Thanks Adam! Already off to a good start.

Haha, I was wayyyyyyyyy into 311 from the time I was about 15 until I was about 24. I haven't listened to them in forever.

I'd leave some music suggestions, but I listen to a lot of fruity indy shit that nobody likes because I'm a pretentious hipster.

311 and Sublime were definitely overplayed, a scar that is apparent even 10+ years later. They have some good songs but are not everyone's cup of tea. I just found my 311 Greatest Hits CD so I've been playing it lately when I'm gaming.

Here's a few songs from Godsmack that are popular. Might have heard them but never recognized the artist.

Voodoo

The Enemy

Hey Amber
I do remember the question I asked you about your tastes of
music & how far they go back & would Black Sabbath AC DC or Ozzy be ok ? I'll leave that up to you of course but I thought some older music would be good too if you want to mix it up a little. Thanks for the thought & I really thank you for thinking about this

Nope, not a fan of old stuff. Once in a blue moon I can handle hearing it, but I can't listen to it on a daily basis. I'd start throwing small babies off of rooftops. Just sayin'.

Current or within the last 10 years is what I'm looking for. Something from the rock or alternative genre works best. I'd accept something pop or possibly r&b, but I don't have a lot of that now for a reason: I can't fap it.

Volbeat is an interesting band, I want to say that they are Danish. Some really good songs of theirs are Radio Girl, Pool of Booze, and Sad Man's Tongue.

Another favorite of mine is Nightwish, a Finnish band. Some songs of theirs that I can recommend are Bye Bye Beautiful, Amaranth, The Islander(this is a more mellow song), Nemo, and because this list would be incomplete without it, Ghost Love Score. In reality this list could go on for quite awhile there are very few of their songs that I do not love.

Some good stuff I have on my playlist if you like progressive Rock:

Pendulum

Porcupine Tree

I guess Peter Lemongello is straight out.

I gave these both a shot. Volbeat is a bit to rough for me, and Nightwish sounds too much like an updated Abba. :) Thank you for giving me new sounds to try, though!

Got The Temptest, sounds good.

Another good band I didn't see on the playlist posted in another forum:

Lostprophets

Got Burn, burn. Was hoping I'd like some of their other stuff but no :(.

Updating main post... more suggestions are welcomed!

Not sure if your a fan of Rage against the machine. But you might try a band called One day as a lion. Its headed by zach and the drummer is from The Mars volta. Songs they have out are, Wild international, Last letter, If you fear dying, and One day as a lion.
And Deftones- Passenger, is an awesome song. Not sure if I've heard it in your room yet.

Holy fuckity fuck fuck. The singer from Taproot is hawt. I may look into this....

I don't know a lot of your tastes, but from the Godsmack/Taproot/etc I wanted to throw Skillet out there.

Also, if there's a certain song with the "feel" you're wanting, type it into the search on Pandora and it will give your other songs and musicians similar to it.

Great song!

Really? Also, this video is just Napoleon Dynamite rapping with a bad goatee.

I try to keep my mouth shut about your playlist but I think I can speak for a few people by offering the suggestion. MORE BASS. I am a big fan of rhythm based music more than melodic music. I don't care if it is rock, pop, rap,r&B,ect. Just give me MORE BASS. That said here is a song that I think you should add I think its your style.

It sounds so much like every other song... I think that's the only thing off-putting about Muse to me. He just always is whining...

Sorry lol :(
