Hello, I am Dana Hayes a mature adult film star with 235 titles. I started in the adult film business at the crazy age of 49 ! Anyway I really want to do web cam but I just cannot find outwhat to do once I am online. I am signed up and ready to go with MFC but I am very frustrated as I try and have no idea what to do. I have read a lot but cannot find specific directions as to what to click to begin. I am feeling rather ddumb but I know I have the fans who want me to do this and I know I would be very good at it but need a little advice on the very first steps once I am online . Call me dumb but it is very scarey knowing that once online if I have no idea what to do people will be watching me fail.
Anyway I really want to be a cam model and this site looks like the place to be and learn. Hope I will become an active contributing member. Dana Hayes The Ultimate Mature Porn Star :hello2:

I definitely think you are in the right place to find some awesome information and support. If you already have an MFC account then you can apply for Model Status and find lots of answers to questions you might have.

In the meantime there is still tons of information in the rest of the forum. Use the "search" feature at the top of the page.

To click to go online you go to this link (you will need to log in)
http://profiles.myfreecams.com/_/ext/download_software and either download and run the software or you use the broadcaster.

It sounds like you are a few steps before going online though.

THiS link may be of some help

I also think you need to watch MFC - a lot. Take notes.
"Call me dumb but it is very scarey knowing that once online if I have no idea what to do people will be watching me fail."

This is a very valid concern. MFC is a site where you run on momentum. If you fail, its very possible to fail hard.
Can i suggest you check out chaturbate. Broadcasting there can be a less intimidating experience and will help you get used to being on live camera, there is no camscore to deal with etc. Not to say it won't earn you money - pleanty of chaturbate performers use chaturbate as their sole income, but in that i feel like chaturbate is less of a sink or swim situation

www.danahayesxxx.com -- is that your website? If so i got a REALLY nasty fake 'trojan' "call support right now your computer is infected" pop up thing when i tried to go there. COmplete with scary beeping, browser freezing.. i couldn't do anythign except close my laptop and restart.

I found it from your twitter account...

You may want to look into that. I'm PRETTY sure (though never 100% that it didnt come from anythign else currently on my computer)

Did it here too

Becoming a cam girl can be a pretty risky thing for someone who isn't at least partly tech/Internet/computer savvy. It's vastly different from starring in films where you have a set, someone telling you what to do, people who deal with the production, etc. As a cam girl, you have to do a huge portion of it all by yourself. Aside from having to learn how to navigate and utilize the cam software or interface properly, you'll be much more at risk of falling victim to assholes on the web who want to send you malicious links and find your personal info.

I would actually recommend that someone who is highly unknowledgeable in these things to consider finding someone they know personally to physically show them how to use the site and give some basic training before they jump into camming.

If there's at least a basic understanding of website navigation, computer/camming hardware and Internet security, then following the advice above is a good start. Gotta get to know the websites you're going to market yourself on from all aspects, it can only help.
