I'm not sure if it's been done before, but what are some of your favorite things to watch that are available on Netflix? TV shows, movies, whatever. There are some hidden gems on there, you've just got to find them!

Some of my favorites have been:
Eden of the East (the series and the one movie available to stream)
Home Movies
Resident Evil Degeneration
The Botany of Desire
Trigun
Louie
Wasabi
God Bless America
Mouth to Mouth
Microcosmos
Ancient Aliens
Growing Op
Leave of Grass
and most recently, Dinosaurs!

Oooh good thread idea. Netflix is my cable. lol.

Shows:
Once Upon a Time
Frasier
Jericho
Heroes
How I Met Your Mother

Documentaries:
Pregnant in America
Hempsters
Lewis and Clark: The Journey (History doc but so epic)
Best of the Real West (Episode 3 is about women of west, really effing good)

There are others I just can't think of them!

I second Jericho. Fun series.

I had a hard time thinking of all the things I found on there that I REALLY enjoyed too, then I remembered I could look at all the things I've rated. That helped a lot!

Slings & Arrows

if you don't let the fact that it's a canadian production (or that it deals with Shakespeare) stand in your way, you'll find that it's a brilliant tv series
3 six episode seasons, so it's not a tremendous amount of time invested.

I'm happy they have all the old Star Trek series, but I wish they had the TNG movies. Now I can truly appreciate the various memes and jokes I find on the 'net.

Walking Dead just had season two pop up, so I'm watching that now.
Wife loves RuPaul's Drag Race, and I admit, I like it when it's on- much as I hate "reality t.v."

Wish they had more HBO and Showtime series, but well, it is what it is. I'm comfortable and complacent and didn't abandon ship when they fucked everyone over with their "restructuring" last year. I look forward to the day they actually make all their DVD titles available for streaming. And hope they did away with having an episode or two from a series only available on disc, because fuck you, those episodes might be important for the rest of the series. Seriously, why the fuck would you even do that?!

But I digress..... I enjoy having the Netflix to watch as it gives me a reason to use my Wii and my television isn't hooked up to watch anything else.

Not a movie suggestion, but I've been using NetFlix's watch instantly RSS feed to keep up with the TV series / Movies as they add them. The site's new arrivals section never seems to be up to date for me, so this has come in pretty handy.

For anyone that is a fan of Joss Whedon and or musicals, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, it is a must.
Best thing ever!!!! Love that show!

I'd have to look through all my recently watched stuff to give decent suggestions. The last thing I watched was a pregnancy documentary because I'm lacking in pregnancy knowledge apparently, so I won't recommend that unless you want to see crowning and placenta delivery...... There's no censors because it's a documentary and they didn't have a warning.

Off the top of my head:
If you like Napoleon Dynamite, you might like Spork.
The Tudors was awesome.
Charlie Bartlett was kick ass

Gonna have to take a gander at this. Seems like the same shit's always in my new arrivals section all the time.

It totally has, bb - viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7796 - great minds, eh? ;)

I agree with anyone and everyone who said Louie. That show is brilliant in more ways than I can count.
Parks and Recreation is a must-watch. Ron fucking Swanson = best sitcom character ever.
Arrested Development - if you've not seen it yet, do so, yo.

Also!

Archer
Breaking Bad
Twin Peaks
The Larry Sanders Show
The Book Group
Mad Men
The Wonder Years

Holy Crap.... best thread idea EVER!! Gonna list off a few that may or may not still be on netflix, just going through the ones I have enjoyed.

Sherlock is GREAT! Just finished watching that.

Monk
Frasier
Reaper
Psych
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Weeds
White Collar
Pushing Daisies if it is still there
I am sure there are more but those are the ones that come to mind.

I also give their documentaries a recommendation. Sometimes I forget that they have them but I LOVE a good documentary.

Have you tried clearing your cache lately? IE - deleting temp files. Chrome - clearing history. That seems to help with netflix a bit.

Never took to Netflix but Nazi's at the Center of the Earth was the highlight of the free month.

Zombie, cyborg, obviously Nazi, Hitler decapitating people with a bionic chainsaw arm. Wish they would have released this when I was thirteen or so.

I've greatly enjoyed "Grave Encounters" and "Paranormal Entity".
Both turned fuckin' scary.

also, LOOOOOOOVE Growing Op. Love it.
super pissed at the almost-ending.

I watched The American Scream last night, a documentary on a group of 3 home haunters in the same Mass. neighborhood. It was made by the guy that did the Best Worst Movie Troll 2 doc a few years back. I thought it was pretty good.

I just noticed that they added "Mirror Mirror", that Snow White movie with Julia Roberts! It seems pretty new so that's kind of crazy but it's also awesome!

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil has been on Netflix for a while but I just can't talk this movie up enough, please just watch it right now because it is just simply incredible.

For those that suggested That Mitchell and Webb Look OMG THANK YOU! Mr. Pond and I are obsessed and have already watched it a couple times through. NUMBERWANG!

Lbs.
Duck Soup
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Indie Game: The Movie
Tucker & Dale VS Evil
World's Greatest Dad
Mary and Max
A Good Old Fashioned Orgy
He Was A Quiet Man
Poolhall Junkies
The Way
Winning Season

Just rewatched Star Trek: DS9 and Farscape (annoying that they don't have the mini-series available). Doing TNG now. Annoyed that they took Stargate SG1 down before I finished watching it, but I went ahead and downloaded the series instead (shh). Thinking I'll do The X-Files next. Besides marathoning TV series, I mainly use it for random bad sci-fi movies, occasionally with MST3K riffing over them if they've got any I haven't seen recently up at the time. And Married with Children or Futurama if I'm feeling crabby.

Don't know how popular or not the TV series Wilfred is, but I've been slowly watching the first season of that as well. "Adapted from the Australian TV series, this unconventional comedy follows the surreal experiences of Ryan, a deeply depressed man who becomes convinced that his neighbor's dog Wilfred is actually a man wearing a costume." Starring Elijah Wood. One of the stranger things I've seen lately.

Most of the other things I wanted to suggest don't seem to be up anymore :( But I think I'm about to watch Winnebago Man again. If you're not familiar with the YouTube video, it's a pretty touching documentary about this foul mouthed Winnebago salesman:

A Fish Called Wanda and The Man with One Red Shoe cheered me up the other day :) Those are still there at least! Oooh, and Blackadder is up. Also Kids in the Hall if you don't have enough Canadian sketch comedy in your life.

I was actually going to suggest Best Worst Movie, but looks like they've taken it down. Troll 2 is still there, though. I've yet to watch it!

Being Elmo!

I watched it last night and it was the documentary equivalent of a warm hug. It's about the guy who became Elmo, how he came from a poor family, how in his teens he'd put on puppet shows for handicapped kids in his neighbourhood, how he came to work for Jim Henson and how Elmo came into being. The dood is clearly The Nicest Man In The World.
Fow the most part, the documentary is just wall-to-wall fuzzies, but the bits where the kids from the Make-A-Wish Foundation choose to meet Elmo for their dying wishes are a wee bit depressing (although the smiles on their faces when they do meet Elmo are pretty much weapons-grade squee).

the most recent interesting movie I have come across is call Lo.
super interesting in the way they filmed it, and it was actually really good.
It was a good movie though I can't grasp why they labeled it a comedy. Lo was actually my inspiration for one of my Halloween mani's this year though.

Stumbled across 'A Good Old Fashioned Orgy' the other night and friggin loved it. :thumbleft:
