Hi ladies, first let me say how happy I am to have found this site!
Second, I did do a search beforehand, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. If this question has already been answered, please steer me in the right direction. :)

I've been camming for about a month and I love it. I wish I would've started sooner! But I noticed that my lights get REALLY hot, which makes it hard for me to stay online and cam for more than 3 hours...I get really tired, my eyes hurt, and even get a headache and feel nauseous. I even turn my fan on full blast, but it doesn't really help.

I'm using the lamp in the picture below (except with all of the shades white).
I have two 40-watt Daylight bulbs, one 34-watt bulb, and two 13-watt CFLs.

I also can't get my lighting quite right, either. I've tried a few other combination of things, like using a worklight, putting a dim light behind me, turning on the desk lamp, all to no avail.
I'm not really sure what to do. Would using LED lights help with the heat, but still keep things looking nice?

Thank in advance for your help ladies! :)

Suggest LED lighting to reduce heat.

One over head (general lighting), another for in front (Adjustable/ dimmer).

Hi,
I know exactly what you're saying about that light. I have the same lamp in my living room and no matter what bulbs or how I bend them its too harsh and eventually gives me a headache.
From a photography perspective, I've always wondered why more girls dont use pro lighting. It's easy to move and color correct. They can be easily put in a closet if you don't have a designated cam room. Also, I have seen some folks even use them as general everyday light simply bc they're kinda cool and different in an eclectic room. now the good part... the kit or set of them is very reasonable cost wise and you can buy additional reflectors in gold, white or silver if you want to change the hues. these kits are both less than $60 complete.
The gold umbrella is $7-15
Srry abt the huge pics but i didnt feel like editing rt now.

I got rid of all lamps around me, since I bought a LED panel, that I am putting in front of me. It never gets hot and has 4 filters to correct the light to hotter or colder (just the light, not the temperature).

Which LED panel did you buy? (brand name and model number? Or a link to a place that sells them?)

If it weren't for the fact that I can barely afford groceries I would definitely invest in some pro lighting.
Right now I have an overhead, and one lamp. It gets super hot in my room so I can't cam for all that long either.

I have that same lamp, the max wattage for it is 40 yes? I have in all regular incandescent 40w GE 'reveal' bulbs - bright white. It gets warm, but I havent noticed it getting unbearable, and its only a couple of feet in front of me. To diffuse the lights, I have sheets of printer paper taped in front of the bulbs. I plan on getting a legit lighting setup once I have money though!
