Hello, i am a moderator for a cam model. My model is struggling to gain views in her room. Most people pop in to see what she is doing then leave. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

lots of us have been there trying to figure out how to retain an audience or still trying to maintain it. i know i personally wouldn't have some level of success if i didn't become involved in cammodel online communities.

Don't say "my model", even us as a studio doesn't refer that way because we all work together and nobody own's any of them.
If you want to help her, you need to gain her traffic, which good studios mostly do on social media, groups and a lot of more methods which some of them hidden methods/untold ones/unpopular ones.

but we mostly recommend trying to get attention in the room, social media and postings around.

Im almost ALWAYS moving. I have a standing and sitting position and im only really looking at my phone if it's slow slow and i need a bit of a mental break. I think some newer models take the "only do stuff when you're tipped for it" advice too literally. It's necessary to move around and be active!!

It would help if you gifted her a VPN to get around country blocks on social media. also google translate is good enough to translate text into her native language. we have lots of users where english isn't theirs and they use this tool to communicate and understand the forums.

remember its not your job to find her success. you can direct her to the path that will help, but this is something she needs to figure out on her own.

I don't know what your model is doing but just a few tips:

• From my experience, engagement is everything! It's essentially a sales job where you are selling yourself, but also creating an experience for your viewers, a fantasy, an escape. The only way to do this is by getting to know your viewers, their interests, and allowing them in and getting to know you (the model) as well without crossing any boundaries or comfort levels. Make use of user notes so she can make note of any important info the user gives her, can come especially handy when having return viewers.

• Engaging with your audience, even if it is slow! Not always easy but the way I see it is if you're going to be streaming regardless, don't look bored, try different outfits even, dancing and others entertaining and visually stimulating ideas that your model is comfortable doing to freshen up her typical livestream and make your cam preview standout to attract viewers. Be open to chatting and having conversations she's comfortable with having with her audience so it's more entertaining and relatable - after all, she's there to entertain and provide her viewers some sort of experience. It's ok to be you, genuine personality definitely stands out and i find it's appreciated by viewers and it shows that you're also a real person behind the screen.

• Don't be on your phone - no one wants to see that. It is Chaturbate after all, but it also doesn't always have to be a highly sexual experience necessarily especially during slow times, some viewers/tippers appreciate making more meaningful and memorable connections with you - Have your model get creative and really just have fun with it!

• Interact with all viewers, sometimes grey and blue users can really surprise you. It takes work of course, but never underestimate because you never know who is on the other end. Your model can also change her settings to allow only viewers with tokens to type in the chat. This also helps separate and make you aware of who has tokens and who doesn't, especially if you're investing time in conversations with them. Some will warm up to you and become more generous, but ultimately it's up to her as the performer to sell themself in a genuine way and make those connections, without underselling their services.

• There are always going to be slow periods, it happens to everyone! Just have to push through it. If your model is usually on at certain times, see if she has the ability to switch up the times she is usually online on to attract new viewers/tippers into her room.

• It's sometimes helpful to view other busy rooms to get a feel for what other models are doing *by no means promote or try ot push busy rooms to her room - there is zero tolerance for that imo* but seeing what other performers are doing can be inspiring and motivating as well.

Speaking as a viewer that visits a lot of rooms and sometimes tips I would say try to do something interesting almost all the time.

Lots of ways to do that - my 2 cents worth:
- play your favorite music but at a moderate/low volume and move slightly to the beat - works great if you have boobs/cleavage on display or you are showing off your ample ass
- talk in your normal voice, maybe softened a little depending on how sultry or brassy you are - react to the chat - to tips - can pick out names from the chat and say hi - getting a conversation going can build an audience and relieve the boredom
- visually, pick your best feature - face, boobs, feet, legs, ass, or (these days) vulva and find a pose or two that show that off prominently
- if you find yourself getting bored - do something different for a bit - get up and dance whatever - avoid the sitting there in bra and panties looking grumpy that I see too often
- consider whether for you it's better to only take things off when you have been tipped enough or taken private, or will you earn more and build a bigger following if you regularly give a good free show - slow striptease, posing and spreading, fingers/dildo, squirting orgasm. The latter is what I am always looking for and I usually tip after the show

In a room without many views, the role of moderator is a bit redundant. Best you can do is continue to be supportive and tip. Certainly as a moderator in a quiet room, it would be counterproductive to wield the modhammer too eagerly. It's your job to be there to support her with encouragement and tips, not to try and fix something which you didn't necessarily break (nor necessarily have the capability to fix).

You could also help by keeping the chat going in her room, although there's a fine line between that and it looking like the mod dominating the conversation which might be intimidating for members arriving.

Oops. Can only speak for myself but I never deliberately stray into the Ask-a-Model sub-forum. I inevitably end up here via the right hand "latest posts" panel and often don't realise until days later that it was an ask a model post.

Member advice can sometimes be helpful. However, the issue with a lot of members who give advice is that they're basically just saying what THEY want to see, like that one post in this thread. Like "give good free shows regularly" or "show of your best features... like your vulva", this is generally terrible advice. Sure, a handful of models may have made this sort of hustle work for them, but for the vast majority, it's going to lead to dudes regularly coming in and not tipping, because they're used to getting a show without tipping anything.

Honestly, any sort of advice you give, there's someone out there doing the exact opposite and making bank. IMO, I've learned that the best thing you can do in this industry is switch up your game until you find what works best for you. Some models do well being highly energetic and talkative, other models do well by just sitting there looking pretty. There's been models who used to be explicit, changed to non-nude and made more money. The reverse has also happened. It's all about finding what niche you fill. It can take time and hard work to find your stride, and some models never do and quit. Which is fine, this industry isn't for everyone.

Anyway, just my two cents on the whole "I need generic advice" stuff.

In all seriousness I think that it’s such a wide and diverse crowd that visit us. And I just don’t believe there is one, or even two, cookie cutter ways to success in amateur porn. Fans are all over the board in what they like sexually, and even socially. Different models are strong and excel in a lot of different ways too.
