Just got a check in the mail for.................

Yep, $0.02. Had to cost 100 times that in paper, envelope and postage.

Anyway, my :twocents-02cents:

Sounds like something the gubberment would do.

Actually part of a class action lawsuit I was not aware I was involved in. I vaguely remember something sent almost a year ago, can't remember if it was opt in or opt out. Apparently was opt out, because I never sent anything back.

Oh well, I now have my :twocents-02cents: check that I will never cash, therefore being able to add my :twocents-02cents: whenever I please. :-D

So in reality the "gubberment" benefits via the US postal service.

That's hilarious! I just got a notice in the mail that I qualify for a class action lawsuit against Reebok. Apparently the Easytone sneakers that I bought 2 years ago that claimed to tone your legs and butt 33% more than regular sneakers, didn't magically melt the fat off of enough women's asses, so they are being sued?!?! My ass is just fine, and I don't really feel like it would be fair to profit off of the lawsuit if I am satisfied with the current state of my butt and thighs. On the other hand...if there's a chance of making a whole .02 cents, I may just reconsider!! That could be a downpayment on something really cool, like a stick of gum!

Was the check from Ebay? I got one for $9.87 from them because of a class action suit.

On a little different note, several years ago I got nailed by the IRS for back taxes and had set up to make monthly payments. One payment was 1 day late getting to them and they charged me a late charge of $.08. They wouldn't let me add it to another payment. They required me to send a check for the $.08. It probably cost the government $50 to process that check.

I've been trying to get Reebok to hire me to investigate in detail whether the product actually worked, but they keep telling me to stop calling.

I think they only work if you actually use them. Just owning them isn't enough, that fat's not going to melt off your ass while the sneakers gather dust in your closet :-D

My Bank once sent me several threatening letters saying I was in arrears with my loan, which I ignored as I had paid it off in one lump sum towards the end of the loan, I only contacted them when a debt collection agency got involved and it turned out the "debt" was ONE ENGLISH PENCE  I dread to think how much it cost them in labour, letters and instructing the debt company, Probably getting close to 1000 times the debt

Morons, needless to say they let me off my massive debt :p

I bet the lawyers in the class action got more than 2 cents.

you just made my day.

also, although it's pretty dumb for people to be Suing a company because their shoes didn't auto-tone bums efficiently enough.... I think reebok can afford it. So that, too, makes my day. :color:

I'm generally opposed to these kind of lawsuits, but this one seems pretty justified.

Don't make claims your product can do something when there's no evidence it can!
