"Let The Wrong One In" is really sad to me.

I spent like ten minutes trying to come up with a movie that makes my cry or tear up and well...huh. I thought there'd be a whole bunch since there are episodes of SG-1 that I just can't watch due to sudden facial leakages. But movies... the beginning "Up" made me cry like a little bitch.

Was that on purpose?
Great film, though I prefer the original. Maybe I'll read the book next....
Yeah I watched the Swedish version and loved it, I heard the remake was good too, but it just upset me that a) they need to remake a perfectly good, recent film because people won't read subtitles and b) removed the whole "sexual" tension subtext because they're scared of transgender issues - for me this was one of the film's defining points, an absolutely integral part. To remove it just seemed cowardly and lazy.

UP - first 15 mins was like "Umm am I watching a Disney movie?"
Steel Magnolias - the funeral scene - but then before it ends you are laughing through the tears
Hugo - not sure but this movie really touched a nerve in me. Yes there were sad parts but those weren't the ones I got choked up over
V for Vendetta - just a great movie - if it didn't move you please kill yourself...thanks
Mary and Max - I added a link because you might not have heard of this but Its clay and its brilliant
Twilight - the fact they made these movies makes me so sad. omg horrible acting

Its 4:34 AM and that is all I can think of at the moment lol

I agree with you on every point. They did a great job at remaking the original, but basically all they did was place the story in America. It saddened me to think that this was the only way Americans would ever see the film, if it was "Amurcan, not one'a dem dang farrin films."
Most of the sexual overtone was taken out, but some was still there. I think they removed just enough to avoid people thinking of pedophilia. From what I've read the book goes further into than even the original film. I'm getting excited about reading it now. I just hope I can understand a lot of the context.

I realize I still haven't mentioned any movies for myself:
The first time I watched Borat I had tears, but that was laughing.
Up, as others have said.
Parts of Finding Nemo
Where the Wild Things Are

All I've got for now.

Yeah I also read that the book made it more clear that the old guy that was taking care 'her' was the latest in a series of pedophilic symbiotic relationships - but from vague memory, also that he'd met her when he was a child...so it was like a repeating cycle - the companion ages while 'she' stays forever young.

:shifty: Totally did that on purpose. I mean I would never get a name wrong of something I have sitting in another room. :shifty:

So you followed my suggestion and started this thread...yay! :thumbleft:

My Girl - starring Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin

The Green Mile - excellent movie!

Carolina Skeletons - about a 14 year Black boy executed by electric chair for a murder he didn't commit

Rosewood - based on the true story of the Rosewood Massacre. A White woman cheated on her husband, then lied and said that a Black man raped her. As a result, several Black people were killed.

When I was little "The Fox and the Hound" and "The Brave Little Toaster" were two movies that I would bawl through. I think my dad actually hid the latter from me at one point.

Well im glad im not the only one :p Im a sucker for Disney Movies!

I'm a sucker for dog movies, so anything that has a dog in it will probably make me bawl.

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

Air Bud

Hachi: A Dog's Tale

Marley and Me

Grave of the Fireflies

Moonchild

Land Before Time (the first one and third one, with Chopper, stick out the most for weeps)

I have cried watching every single Pokemon movie.

Dumbo. :crybaby: When he visits his mum and she's all chained up it's just horrific. I remember watching the film all the time when I was little, and so bought it for my daughter and found it so emotional. :crybaby:

Bambi...nuff said.

The Man From Nowhere. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1527788/ This movie is so powerful and well acted and there is a scene with the seven year old girl who is decribing her life living with a mum who is addicted to heroin, and how her nickname at home is 'Garbage'. I was literally sobbing. She is going to make a wonderful actress if she continues into adulthood.

Hmmm, I notice a maternal theme whenever films choke me up...wussy mummy syndrome. :violin:

Every single time I watch dumbo that scene makes me bawl :crybaby:

All dogs go to heaven is another one that gets me.

"Of Mice and men"

The book was excellent, the film, especially Gary Sinise's portrayal of George was unbelievable, the end scene especially

ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edwar Scissorhands is such a beautiful film and almost always makes me well up

It seems, to me anyway its about social exclusion and how that effects people, set in a stunning fantasy

I have not seen it for years but im gonna chase up a DVD now

Everybody's all american. Don't know if anyone else has seen it, but i'd suggest it, John Goodman is awesome in it steals every scene that he is in.

Serenity. I'm a leaf in the wind...

Lucas, some how I could identify with him not getting the girl he wanted though I have nothing in common with the main character.

there's more just having trouble thinking of any at this time.

howls moving castle

the notebook

who didnt cry at up?

While I didn't cry exactly, I turned to my friend and said that was the most depressing 15 minutes of a movie I've ever seen in my life when watching UP.

The part in Rain Man where Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) leaned his head against Charlie's (Tom Cruise) head, and then Charlie said to him "I like having you as my brother." :crybaby:
