As of yesterday (Oct 24, 2011) there is a new version of the Model Web Broadcaster available and fully functional for us to use. It's beautiful and has wonderful features!

Some improvements you will see when you try it out:

1. The window that pops up with people queue for a group is much smaller, slightly transparent, and pops up at the top of your chat window instead of in the bottom left (where it previously blocked some of the buttons/user info). It also disappears appropriately when everyone leaves the queue.

2. You can ignore, add friend, remove friend, view profile, ban > 60-day ban, un-ignore and un-ban from a member's PM window (which I find is the easiest way) or you can find most of these features on a little dropdown on your main window after clicking on the member.

3. You can pop out a PM into a separate window (but also leaves the original PM window in tact.) If you close the original PM window, it closes the pop out as well.

4. Member's info (reward points and token counts, if visible) will update in real-time if you have the member selected.

5. When having a conversation in a PM, the PM window will now show text if the member logs off/on. We also now get notifications in the public chat when we receive new MFC mail.

6. The "mute guests" and "mute basics" buttons are right at the top of the screen, right next to the topic, and you only have to click them once (no confirmation dialog popup!)

7. Many of the buttons have been moved around a bit (they arranged the window to be friendlier to models using smaller screens/resolutions) so you'll need a bit of time to adjust, but I'm sure you'll find everything works like you'd expect. I've attached a screen cap of the interface so you can get an idea now, but I highly suggest trying it out yourself. :)

I ran this new version during my entire shift last night and it worked flawlessly. The only thing I haven't checked is if the video still crashes when I resize my browser while I'm broadcasting.

If any of you ladies are using the web broadcaster (which I highly recommend, it's much more useful and intuitive than the software at this point) and run into a bug, there is a link on the page right when you log in that says "feedback" that you can use to send in a report. Remember, showing them screen caps of the problem and being very detailed about the issue/what you were doing at the time helps. I've been testing this with the Admins for weeks now and I think the biggest bugs and kinks are taken care of, though.

Happy camming!

The web version is better than the software? I fear change. Is it worth facing said fear? :geek:
It is very much better than the software. It will take a little time to adjust, but I promise it's worth the effort.

For some reason, both I and a fellow cam girl were having issues with the web applet (or perhaps it was MFC?) last night. We both tested our upload/download speeds and I, personally, was downloading at over 7000kbps and uploading at over 4000kbps. However, we were both lagging so horribly that we had to pull our shows after a few minutes! I've never had issues with the old or new web applet - and tried to switch back to the old one as well as switching browsers, which were both fruitless. I'm fairly certain it wasn't my computer (no extra applications running), and both the other model and I use different browsers, operating systems, etc. Just wondering if anyone else was having major issues with the applet or MFC servers in general last night.... Going to try to make up for it tonight, but I hope it works! :woops: The new version of the broadcaster looked SOOOOO nice, too....

Edit: We live near each other, but I'm not even sure if we have the same ISP....

SofiaSweets, I'd suggest giving it another try asap, and if you have the same results, email this problem and information to the email on that main page so they can take a look at it.

If you're logged in like that and not streaming/getting tips, does it still affect your camscore the same as before on the software?
There are some girls who stay logged into the software without being "online" and seem to think their camscore isn't being effected, so I really don't know what to say about this. All I can note is that once I "close chatroom" any tips that come in show as "offline tips" in my MFC mail, and that I've personally hung out in PM while logged in (chatroom closed) and haven't seen any unusual changes in my camscore.

That would be nice to know for models. I've had models I was chatting with in PM after the chatroom closed tell me they had to leave because of camscore worries. Although...lol...she may have just said that as a convenient polite excuse to leave the conversation...I know I can be as boring as the next person. Much better than saying, "hey gotta go; I'm tired of your text." :)

Still wasn't able to broadcast at anything even remotely close to a decent speed, and still have 7000+/4000+ download/upload speeds, so I shot MFC an email.... In the meantime, if anyone has encountered this and fixed it, please let me know how :h:
The sooner you send them an email, the sooner they can help you!

Little update: MFC has said they've gotten many emails about this issue lately. They told me it was actually an issue with the newest version of Adobe Flash Player, and that "Adobe knows the problem with the video skipping and they are working to fix it." So there you have it! They are suggesting temporarily uninstalling Flash Player and installing version 10 instead of version 11 until Adobe fixes the issue. Got lots of homework to do, but I may try it out later. Hope this helps anyone having the same issue! (A couple of the models I follow on Twitter have said they're having the same troubles, so chances are someone on here is too :handgestures-salute: )

Another update: you can't even run the web broadcaster unless you have the newest version of Flash, so I have no idea why they told me that. Guess I'll just sit tight and let the problem clear its self up...!

I adore this new browser thingy, and Jicky, don't be afraid, I've used the software for over 3 years and it was an easy change, maybe 10 minutes figuring out where everything is, then you can fly.

One little issue, I can't get member cams up, the "view webcam" button does nothing when I press it, so I tried the little cam gif next to their name, it just brings up the cam window, which is labeled "blank" and stays white. The only way I can view cams is to log out and come back on with the software.. grrr.. I prefer to stay on this sexy browser version.

I'll get some screen caps and shoot them an email, hope they iron this out quick.

Viewing cams has been fixed. The PM manager has now been incorporated into the browser. A brand new version is up and running today, go check it out. :)

There were some issues tonight with the pop out pm windows. Glad you messaged them, I did too. :)

I've been experiencing the same problem i hope they fix this soon, it's driving me mad.

I used the web browser for the first time last night & I loved it!! The only thing I noticed is that my emoticons I would type weren't showing up in the chatroom.

It definitely trumps the software!

Ladies, I thought I would let you know about the browser version's pm manager.

I was working with Kevin on it last week, but since I didn't know if/when they would get around making it public, I didn't say anything. (And yes, I am plenty willing to post the emails for those who think I'm claiming something I didn't do).

Gotta get on camera, but I wanted to make sure you all knew that the pm manager button is there, bottom right, next to mfc mail.

Doh I tweeted about it but forgot to update here. Thanks for posting this, I knew a lot of models wanted this!

I tried it out last week briefly but my chat wasn't scrolling. It didn't bounce like the software does so about 5 minutes went by where I thought everyone was just silent. I was really needing to hit my goal that night so just went back to the software but I think I'll give it another try tonight. I probably just needed to refresh. Anyone else have this issue?

I get this issue every time I reset my topic. The fix has generally been to just scroll to the bottom, and then it kept up. You gotta make sure you scroll all the way down though, it's weird.

Weird I've had no issues like that at all. Are you using the newest version of Chrome?

I...... don't know. Guess I'll check! I didn't end up trying it tonight because I felt a little delicate and not in the right mind set to ruffle my feathers ( gawd I'm such a sensitive baby sometimes ).

Yes, I had this problem as well, and I'm using the newest version of Chrome. I kept thinking everyone was ignoring me but really it was just my chat not scrolling

to my early reply. i downloaded camtwist and selected logitech webcam as a source. then when into into preferences then general and set the fps to 30 then under the last tab i selected my logitech cam then clicked force ascpet ratio to 640*480 and now its working. no more long looking face. also i can't get twist cam to show up under safari. only on chrome. but it seems to be working that way. i would like to be able to get this to work with out any third party software so if someone else knows a better way please let me know. thanks
