Inactive Cam Model
First off this question is mainly for the MFC cam girls that use the Windows-based: Model Software to broadcast, as that is what I prefer using camming from my laptop.

Lately I have been wondering what is the best Internet browser to use while camming. I remember reading in the past that Google Chrome was the best, and I personally have always been a fan of Google Chrome, so I've always used that solely. Although recently I've come across a problem. Not with Myfreecams particularly, but my Google Chrome browser has frequently been crashing on me while surfing the internet or while watching other models cam on MFC. In the past it would only happen on rare occasion, but lately it's been happening way too often and is extremely frustrating. I'm pretty sure that it's not my computer (as I have done Malware scans etc.), so I have been considering switching over to another Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, but I'm unsure which would be more compatible (and less likely to lag) while broadcasting with the Windows-based model software.

Ultimately my question to you girls is.. What is your preference/experience with the different web browsers. Which do you use or have you used in the past that you find to work well and not crash frequently, in which also does not negatively affect your abilities to cam? Also if you could mention the type of computer you are using. I know different browsers probably coincide differently with different operating systems. I'm using a Windows 7 Starter.

Any feedback is appreciated ladies, thanks!

I use a Mac mainly but I have this problem on my Windows machine too sometimes. My Dad explained it to me like this; Chrome updates itself on it's own, updates don't always take so well because you are just patching the existing program (makes sense right?) so whenever I have browser problems, he told me I should download the latest installer and uninstall the browser and install it from scratch. In Chrome I back up my bookmarks to google so this works pretty well usually. Firefox is a pain to do this with.

The other thing is, I find a lot of browser issues are just flash related, so sometimes uninstalling that and reinstalling it works. When my first iPhone had no flash, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever, but really now I see that flash is just evil, and even though I wish I had it when I had my iphone, the browser worked great so there was apparently something to their madness.

Great advice, thanks! I'll definitely have to give that a shot.. Loosing my favorites would make me reluctant to try it, but I will have to try saving them to Google like you mentioned

Uninstalling/reinstalling won't help with Chrome, as Flash is included with the browser and it does not use the version of Flash you can install, like Firefox does. With that said, Chrome still works best for me with MFC.

If you are having browser issues, one thing to do is get something like Piriform's Ccleaner. It's handy generally, but specifically for doing stuff like deleting the temp files and cached data browsers accumulate. Also try deleting ALL your MFC cookies. Those can screw you up, too.

Anyway, which version of Windows are you using?

Reinstalling Chrome itself will still help Chrome, you missed half of what I said. It's not all about flash. The flash thing helps with Firefox. She asked what we do, for firefox flash sometimes is more the problem than the browser. She also said she is running Windows 7 starter.

I prefer Chrome though, even on my Mac.

Good advice. I'll add that sometimes Chrome doesn't update itself either. It tries to but it gets stuck as it just happened to me. I found out my brother had version 27.0.1xxxxxx something, and I was still on version 23. I manually clicked on update and it would say it found one, try to install it and say it would finish after restart. It wouldn't finish after restart. It would just repeat that. I hadn't noticed all that time. So I had to completely uninstall it and do a fresh one.

Another option that is probably really good for models is install Comodo Dragon browser. It IS chrome browser but they beefed it up on security a bit so it's a separate software now. The thing is it uses it's own directory for temp files and cache so if you're having problems with Chrome, Comodo will still work. And you can sign into google the same as Chrome so it will automatically pull in all your bookmarks and apps for you and keep them the same. Change something in either browser and the next startup of the other one gets changed too. http://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-toolbars/browser.php I always have both [and several other] browsers installed.

As for Chrome I will say clearing out browsing data seems to help with many problems.

I have the best luck with Google Chrome. In fact, I can't even post on this forum with Firefox, because when I use it I keep getting logged out of my ACF account.

I have to use Firefox when camming on ImLive, or when using JustCamIt (the online version) for AdultWork.

Yeah, I've tried cleaning my cookies too, hasn't seemed to help. Thanks for your advice though, I'll check out the Piriform's Cleaner that you mentioned, hopefully I'll be able to find it via Google?

Oh and I'm using a laptop Windows 7 Starter.
