I like that mapofmetal page. I find I enjoy most of the metal categories listed there but a lot of people get all elitist about their metal and diss other metal categories or genres and the people who listen to them.

I listen to quite a lot of numetal and related stuff but I also enjoy some heavy, black, speed, power, prog, folk, etc. I'd probably list half of the metal types on that map if I kept going.

Continuing with the Slipknot mention, THIS fucking song is quite an earworm for me.



Just to name some of my favorite bands from among all those different categories, I love some Disturbed, A7X, Godsmack, Nightwish, Dream Theater, Finntroll, and Dimmu Borgir.

Ah, pretty much the the only genre of music I give a shit about. Only the good sub genre's though, specifically thrash, death, melodic death, black, doom, progressive, classic (i.e. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden), folk, power, industrial and grindcore. Nu-metal, metalcore and deathcore are no-talent, garbage genre's and can all eat shit.

Not. It's more rooted in Hardcore and it basically says it in it's name, emo music with screaming vocals. With bad songwritting and bad musicianship at that.

woah woah WOAH. I mostly agree with this statement, but let's not forget that deftones and slipknot are both considered nu metal. There is nothing sucky about either of them.

HOWEVER,
