Members, are you comfortable buying content without looking at trailers?

As I'm beginning to sell more content via onlyfans dms, I'm also beginning to appreciate that many people are simply comfortable looking at a thumbnail + description before spending $5, $10, $20, $50+ (cumulative) on videos they don't watch a trailer or even see a proper description of.

When I subscribe to others' onlyfans, locked dm posts usually don't contain much of a description either, but insteading something alluring ("I want to do this to you", etc). We're talking vip onlyfans, so they have the option to give explicit unlocked content in dms, but choose not to. And they do great, which is great! But it goes over my head when I'm the buyer and I see a locked dm.

I'm only ever really comfortable buying content after watching trailers and am interested to learn if this is a personal preference, or quite possibly a gendered thing? Most people who buy adult content are men, after all.


If you do are comfortable with this, do you have a lot of faith in the specific person's content, or do you buy content from others without looking at trailers/descriptions, too?

Sometimes I’ll buy without seeing a trailer first. But it depends on the situation.

If I’m already familiar with the model - especially if I have bought other videos from her - then I’ll be much more confident that I know what I’m buying. Also, a great description and thumbnail goes a long way toward selling me on a video, especially if the video is inexpensive. For a few bucks, I’ll take the chance.

If I’m new to a model’s work, or the video costs more than I’m used to spending, or if the content is new territory for me and I don’t know if I’d like it (fetish, etc), those are situations where a trailer definitely helps.

Pretty much what Smoothie has said however there are even exceptions for this for me too.
I mean there is this very beautiful model I followed on OnlyFans (I don't anymore) and she has very sexy clips and I enjoyed her on her live shows for CB/MFC too, but she would price her content weird, not include any previews, but would describe them in 1 or 2 short sentences. Many of them were similar and the prices varied HUGELY. And it wasn't even based on duration, either. For example, some of them would be "pussy play with pink dildo" (as an example), it would be 10 minutes long and cost $10 or $20.
But then a similar sounding video for 5 minutes would be $60 or $70.


So it can all depend on many factors, I guess. But if you're able to even give a tiny preview (still image) then it may be better.
Some of us need a visual to be able to really see what you look like in the video. I mean, you could describe your outfit perfectly, but then some of us still may not be able to imagine it - especially since not all of us know styles of females clothes, lingerie, etc. So a still image can be very helpful.

I currently only follow models on OF that I also regularly hangout with on MFC and right now that's enough I don't have enough time in the day to look at all their content as it is.
I personally am not a fan of PPV as the prices are often much higher than I'm willing to pay and some models spam them in DMs them all the time thankfully the models I follow now aren't like that.
I'm also more of an interactive fan, I largely sub to their OF as a means of support for my favourite models and also because I find OF DMs to be much better than MFC for communications.

Thank you all for your responses! Thinking more about it from the replies so far, I believe I might have had my perception a little distorted. The people who follow me have faith in my content (and that's a big vote of confidence!); this doesn't mean people in general are comfortable buying content without seeing trailers from just about anyone. They need to get to know the person and have a standard they expect to see.

@Sxmxr some sites, especially clip sites, let you do a video preview. For example, manyvids lets you do a video preview up to 30 seconds. On onlyfans, I post one of these 30~ second clips so people have an idea of what to expect from a video and ask them to dm me for the full thing.

I also upload these trailers onto twitter to help let people know that new content is up. It's been a busy month!

I wish OF had a way to give a preview in dms (I think you can do previews on free onlyfans, at least with pics on locked posts? I've seen it happen on someone's profile!)
Some people even upload parts of their video for free as a more fleshed out trailer. I used to do this on my pornhub, but stopped. I wouldn't mind trying again as I think it did help with traffic. As with anything in this industry, your mileage may will vary.

I'm personally a big fan of previews on both sides of the fence - as a buyer and a seller. It helps me feel comfortable that the person knows what to expect before buying; I believe this reduces the chance of buyers remorse and don't want to get a low rating from a buyer in a hurry who didn't want to see the trailer first.

Some people censor their previews so that you can see more explicit nude content in the full video itself after buying as an incentive.
I don't personally do this; big mainstream adult advertisers don't either on their ads, but they can probably afford to do this! Anyway, the people who get off on the preview alone were not going to support me anyhow. It's all up to you and your own comfort!
