You fail at business. If you are a megastar you can sell things on your own website and do fine. If you are not then you need to be in a store so people can discover you.

Are you saying that everyone on iTunes gets discovered?

I think iTunes takes a 30 percent cut of everything they sale though.

Megaupload takes 100% of pirated material.

wetransfer.com is another possible alternative, takes a lot of time and bandwidth but given the way its set up and the market it caters to, I think its less likely to attract the attention of the FBI

oh thank god I thought I'd never get my totally legit copy of Iron Man off there

http://www.megaretrieval.com/

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), supported by Carpathia Hosting, today announced its plans to assess the scope of the issue facing Megaupload users who are at risk of losing their data. Carpathia has created this website, http://www.MegaRetrieval.com to assist users in contacting EFF. EFF will review the factual situations shared by users and, if possible, try to resolve their issues.

"EFF is troubled that so many lawful users of Megaupload.com had their property taken from them without warning and that the government has taken no steps to help them. We think it's important that these users have their voices heard as this process moves forward."

Of course, it goes without saying that if the ONLY copies of your files were on Megaupload, you might be rethinking your backup strategy. Multiple copies backed up locally on different hardware/media, as well as a "backup backup" in the "cloud," is the best strategy for irreplaceable files!

Perusing TOS's for various sites... damn is this hard...

First two I tried (2shared and Nakido) said that we cannot claim copyright or trademark for anything we upload, which means that anyone can then steal it and post it anywhere.

So mediafire, which I've heard good things about..

You agree while using MediaFire Services, that you may not:

Distribute Content that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, harassing, threatening, unlawful or promotes or encourages illegal activity;

well fuck

Just don't name your files things like "hotblowjob.wmv". They don't check the content of every file that's uploaded.

Yeah they just put that kind of stuff to protect themselves, so that if you upload something illegal or whatever they can (at least try to) pass the onus of guilt onto you.

With that megaretrieval thing - I hope it works out, but seeing as it's governed by legal stuff you might need to disclose details about the files you're trying to retrieve, ie hotblowjob.wmv

What are you ladies currently using to sell your video links? I was using cum.com...that also got shutdown. I uploaded all of my vids to rapidshare and customers are saying the links start to download, but then keep stopping and restarting, never resulting in a completed download.

This is one of the main ways I make my countdowns and I looking for any other websites that allow me to upload my videos too. Any help would be appreciated!

mediafire
people keep saying mediafire is getting shut down, though I haven't seen anything conclusive about it.

Ps Hi Cass :D

Seems most sites similar to Megaupload are in danger of getting shut down unfortunately. My suggestion to any girls would be to pay for a hosting plan (I use Kinohost.net, super affordable, great support), and upload your videos there and give out that link, no danger of it shutting down either.

You can always password protect the zip file (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/8730). I believe this is what I'm going to have to end up doing and is my best suggestion :/

Actually, I can't find anything about mediafire shutting down except that people say it o_O rumours suck

Yeah, well after the BTJunkie voluntarily shut down, and Megauploads owners are facing serious jailtime, I'd say most sites based in the US that offer torrents are probably going to be shutting down one way or another in the near future. It's kind of a scary thing, even though SOPA and PIPA got shelved and whatnot. I believe some sites are even packing up and moving overseas to avoid shut down, albeit temporarily.

but look at piratebay, they've been illegal in the US for what like 2 years at least, and facing court cases in sweden, and they're still rock-solid, every day, right now...

TPB is in Sweden, US can't shut them down, Sweden and US operate differently when it comes to websites for torrenting I'm guessing.

The Pirate Bay is truly an international community. The team is spread all over the globe - but we've stayed out of the USA. We have Swedish roots...SOPA can't do anything to stop TPB. Worst case we'll change top level domain from our current .org to one of the hundreds of other names that we already also use. In countries where TPB is blocked, China and Saudi Arabia springs to mind, they block hundreds of our domain names. And did it work? Not really.

From their Press Release about a month ago.

Mega-upload had a lot of shady business practices In addition to knowingly paying users who uploaded copyrighted material for traffic they brought to the site.

For an example: Large file storage systems have a process that looks for duplicate files and stores just one copy of a file upon multiple uploads in order to save space. So what this means is after a user uploads a file if Mega Upload finds that file elsewhere on their servers then they will delete the file you just uploaded and create an additional link to the original.

A problem arises when Mega Upload would receive a DMCA take down notice. The person submitting a DMCA would provides a link to a file they have found. When Mega Upload received the notice they would delete that one link but leave the file on their server and all the remaining links to that file would be unaffected.

Yeah I know there were a lot of shady dealings going on over there, hopefully for the time being other storage sites will not be affected because lots of people store their pictures, videos and files on these sites and it's totally legal. With any storage site you're going to get people storing torrents and copyrighted files.

Yeah, Filesonic disabled their downloading out of fear of being prosecuted. Mega Upload of course had a lot of legal content as well but the entire site was taken down because they did not take appropriate actions to prevent copyrighted material. Hopefully they won't use bazookas to take down too many sites we all enjoy for legitimate reasons.

I believe filesonic was another one that had incentive-driven traffic, they were probably quite right to be nervous.

You wouldn't even have to upload the file. They performed a hash check on your file and searched their servers. If a match was found they just imported the link onto your profile\file vault.
There's nothing wrong with this practice, as the files are 100% identical, but they should of course have deleted the file and not just disable 1 link.

I googled "DMCA ignore" yesterday trying to help a model figure out what her next step is when notices are being ignored, and came across ads and forum posts for dozens of data storage centers who proudly use the fact that they ignore all DMCA requests as a selling point :/

SwedenDedicated.com - Dedicated €70 1Gbit offshore, dmca ignored 2000GB B/W

DMCA is ignored, no need to mail us and ask again.

We can host all except for: malware/spyware, hacking, ddos, irc, under age porn and everything that is illegal in Sweden. We do host: animal adult content, warez, bittorrent, 18+ and everything that is legal in Sweden.

More file-storage sites in the crosshairs: Fileserve, MediaFire, Wupload, Putlocker and Depositfiles.

This is why, after MegaUpload was shut down, I just started sending attachments through Hotmail. If the file is too big, it will automatically ask if you want to send it as an online file, and the link expires in three days.

Well, I'd look into the security of that option before doing it but assuming you have then great.

Important thing to remember is that as long as it's legal for you to be a camgirl it will also be legal for servers to store your videos for customers to download. So even if those sites DID get shutdown (and I'm sure they won't all be) there will always be storage solutions.
