4th Day: Total Failure.

Starting camming at 12 am. Little earlier than past few nights, but went 2 and a half hours with no privates. Very few members came in to the room, one did but had no credits. Another talked for a bit. Another sat there for an hour saying nothing. Then the guests started hitting on each other. I might have stopped them, but at that point I just didn't care. Had been a long time since a member had even come in by then. So I waited around for a while longer and closed it down for the night. Really disappointing, was hoping for a good night.

New Cam Model Lesson: If the night sucks and your mood is going sour, take a break or just give up on the night.

I'm too tired to fully explain nude on cam but it basically means nude in private or nude according to what the rules of the site say. My (male) roommate has been thinking about starting solo camming but he's still being shy. He currently cams full time with me on streamate but he always gets more attention and compliments than I do, lol. I should have him sign up here so he can talk to you and read this thread.

Yea if you're just in normal free chat (like you see most on streamate), then I would highly recommend not sitting nude. As for the other type of nude chat, just disregard my post on that.

Shower show is something to try in nude chat, actually. AFAIK on many sites you can't be fully naked in free chat, and I know for sure on cams.com as I've received warnings from them (when I didn't realize I was in free chat and was completely naked and playing, thinking I was in nude chat! :lol: )

Cams.com is fucking PICKY and so fast to warn you about things. I'm so used to the freedom of MFC that they actually pissed me off with their warnings at cams.com to the point where I doubt I'd ever return. That and the fact that the payout % is bullshit, and their fanclub payout changed so that you have to work nearly full time to make anything off of memberships. And their customer service gave me the run around for 2 whole fucking months when I first signed up, already putting a bad taste in my mouth about their service as a whole.

There are no deductions or anything and I dont know ape shit about filing and taking care of these kinds of taxes. It would be nice if deductions were made for me. Based on these things I dont know if calming or any type of independent contractor work is right for me. A shame too based on the potential money.

Seriously? Taxes aren't really that complicated. And there's no way a camsite would take deductions out for you- that'd make you their employee, and they'd have to provide benefits to you. That'd make a whole lot of complications for them.

Throwing in :twocents-02cents: I am an independent contracter as a technician. It was a daunting idea at first, but as long as you keep record of pretty much everything you do and are really organized about your expenses, tax time isn't that bad. If you're really that scared doing it yourself, that's what tax pro's are for -- as long as again, you kept all the proper documents of doing business.

But that's the beauty of doing business on cam sites. There's not much, if anything, you can declare for deductions, so you won't have to keep track of much. At best, your major expenses will be laptop, the rent you pay and utilities. Even then, the later 2, you can only declare a percentage of the bills you use to cam on, so it doesn't really add up enough to declare deductions. Tips and wages will be calculated by the camsite on a 1099-MISC for you. Just make sure you don't blow more than 60% of your income to pay for taxes in the end and you're set. (I personally like to set myself to 50% as it gives me a little extra money in case shit hits the fan at the end of the year).

I'm sure other models can chime in with previous tax years expierences?
