Hi everyone! First time poster here I've been browsing these forums as well as many others recently for information as I've became interested in being a camboy and I have a few questions. First off I'll start with saying that I'm a 22 year old slim white male currently living in Las Vegas. I'm 5'10 and weigh roughly 125pds so I'm more on the thin side. I'm not cut nor do I have a skinny six pack I'm just smooth bodied. I also have an extremely young face and often get mistaken for being 16/17. I recently came across a male webcam studio ad on CL stating that their looking for local males here in LV and the guaranteed pay is $15/hr not including tips. I sent a submission in and they emailed me back with a time to meet for the interview and stated that the average guys on their website make roughly $25/hr with flexible hours. Before I meet with them I was just curious is the guaranteed $15/hr a good start for a male cam boy? Do cam guys generally make more than the average $25/hr when on chaturbate or other at home websites? I know for guys the money varies heavily on what you're willing to do/body appearance/personality, but is their successful twinkish looking guys that make well over the $25/hr on their own? Also what would be the benefits/disadvantages of working at a studio? Do they heavily deduct my checks due to tax purposes? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am more than happy to answer any questions as I have a very open lifestyle. I'm not sure if I'm aloud to post links on here, but the studio that I'm interested in is called hookvegas(.com) if anyone was interested in looking into them more

More like they heavily deduct your checks because they're a studio and that's what studios do. Cam models are independent contactors, so taxes aren't taken out of our checks, we have to set money aside to pay taxes.

An important thing to consider is how you'll see the guaranteed $15/hr. Will you be more focused on your hustle because you don't have to worry about $0 hours, so you're less stressed, more relaxed, and more in the moment? Or will you hustle less because that $15 is there even when no tips are going in?

It sounds like they are a physical studio, which means that they'll be giving you a (probably decorated) space to cam in, plus a good internet connection and a good computer to use. But, is that worth it to you to give up part of your check to them?

While it's hard to predict how much a person can/will make in camming, there absolutely are male models who make $25/hr+. There are also male models who make very little. Part of that is their approach to camming - some dudes think they can just turn on their laptop's built-in webcam and sit there with their dick out in terrible lighting, and make money - and part of it is the good ol' camming intangible luck aspect. Chances are, if you are consistent, committed, and fun, you will make decent money.

Personally, I would only go with this studio if I couldn't cam from home. I already have everything I need, so a studio is not of benefit to me.

if you sign with them read your contract. If it bars you from camming or camming on that site if you leave the contract then you should seriously reconsider. If you change your mind later and want to leave, make sure you can go indie if you want to

The studio isn't a charity, so if you can't pull in more than what they're paying you, they will drop you. As others have said, it's about whether what you're paying them (as their cut of your earnings) is worth what they're providing.
