Is there anyway a mod can help boost room activity when the room is quiet?

Started viewing a model and then started modding just for fun, im not controlling and dont distract her i just view the show and try and direct with neutral self affirming gifs that the model would be uploading similar" follow subscribe " etc.

Her show is pretty popular despite the fact she has had a bit of bad luck shes had a couple of popular accounts.

Usually her show is buzzing but at times its quiet. Time of day, time of week. she changes schedule every few weeks or so

I leave it entirely up to her. Besides silencing, or redirecting the focus if there is any kind of negative vibes from viewers, and occassional input is there anything else a mod can do in a quiet room. Im mostly passive/neutral . She has 2 other mods who help the room

For the most part i find a room with mods alot of the excessive chat seems to calm down without doing anything

Wether that helps or hurts ......

Obviously every mod has there own personality and style but i would imagine models all want something similar passive neutral

This evening i did my usual thing then after a few hours thanked the model said i will see her again soon. Shortly after she went offline.

Just mostly quiet room today , i tend not to talk alot to her as a mod becaiuse shes working , so im just getting a feel for the whole modding thing

I wont mod everyday but when im not busy i dont mind as its kind of fun

Im sure when its alot busier i will call in for a few hours just to see if i can help out

But in regards to quiet rooms im guessing theres not alot you can do really . Until paying customers join the room

Correct.
A model can create the vibe and a moderator can easily kill the vibe.
Sounds like you are doing the right things. Staying out of the way, not badgering others to tip and just deal with chat msgs that are rude, rule-breaking or spamming that the model may miss or doesn't have time to react to

I take the view that if 99% of the people haven't noticed me modding I'm doing a good job.

Even if you mean well, you should probably avoid acting on the urge to “do something” to boost a room. There’s very little a mod can do to increase traffic. But you might do even more damage to the room’s traffic if you’re TOO active. Some members (like me) get tired of overly active mods very quickly.

People are there for the model. The more visible you are in her room - again, even if you mean well - the more difficult it may be for the model’s visitors to focus on the show. Which is bad.

Honestly, I’d say tipping more during slow periods is the best way to help. It may or may not draw in other members, but at least you’re paying the model while it’s slow.

Some good points there Smoothie. I can't abide those mods who talk all the time or talk on behalf of the model. Guys are there for one thing only and that thing isn't to talk to or be "encouraged" by a hairy assed dude (disclaimer: unless the model is the hairy ass dude that they've come to see). Keep out of the way and deal with any bad behaviour that the model is temporarily unable to deal with or hasn't noticed. Otherwise, leave their show to them.

And tipping is an absolute must. I see plenty of moderators who consider that moderating is a free pass to sit in the room for free.

Yes the key is a light touch, in the room I mod in because it has up to 2k people in at times there's no expectation from the model re tips from the mods - we're mostly there to keep the chat in line with what she's comfortable with so she can focus on the show.
