Hey,
I have been obsessed with my profile and looking at other MFC girls profiles. I love the ones that have a ton of stuff but the simple ones are nice too. Besides links to my twitter and amazon I dont have much on my profile. My question is, "is more better?" Is it better to have a alot of stuff on your profile like games and raffles and clubs and whatever or is it better to keep the profile basic?

Less than half of the guys will read your profile. There are models in the top 20 with overly done up profiles and with hardly anything in their profiles so it doesn't matter much as far as making money goes but i prefer to keep it simple. :twocents-02cents:

I think it comes down to a few different things.

Not every model can pull off, or wants to do, a ton of raffles, games, and club programs. Models who do tons of these things are not going to suddenly make more money than everyone else. And for every money-making venture you add (like a club or raffle), all the more work you are going to have to do when you turn the camera off. It's also harder to edit (especially if you put a ton of information in images instead of as text).

When it comes to very fancy done-up profiles, there is always a very noticeable difference between people who do them well and people who just throw everything they can find on one page and call it a night. The more stuff you put on a page, the harder it is to make the page look nice.

I think when it comes to profiles, more is not better. More certainly does not translate in to attracting more people and earning more money.

The only things that a model should "obsess" about are taking care of her mental and physical health and her IRL relationships, both for obvious reasons and so that she will be able to present her best self to her room. Camming can be rough, especially starting out.

Profiles can be nice, but the only thing most pay attention to are photos. I don't care about raffles and certainly don't care what other people's high tips are, although I suppose some members enjoy the recognition. As Evvie said, some models do great with next to nothing on their profiles. The one model I know best hasn't done *anything* with her profile except fill in some blanks since she made a new account last year, and her CS hovers around 8-9k.

Profiles can be a time sink and a distraction, and are probably the least important aspect of being a successful cam model, even if you are using them to promote sales of photos and videos. If you have to choose between going for coffee with a friend and perfecting the font on your profile, go for coffee. The only thing most tipping members care about is you.

Good graphic design wins out for me. If a profile is welcoming in the design sense, clean and uncluttered, I'll stay and browse content every time.

I think as long as your profile looks clean and gives the members a good idea of who you are and what you do is fine. I see lots of girls with profiles that are impossible to read due to the background and have weird colours that don't match, which for me is quite a "turn-off" in a sense. I don't think you need to have your profile designed by professionals, as long as it is appealing to the eyes it is fine.

If you OFFER a lot of different things - It does help. Most members dont read profiles no - but regulars do.

I recently added a few thing to my profile
#1 clear screenshots, descriptions and in some cases preview links and a clean easy scrolling bar for my videos (because there were so many) organized into catagories. I haven't even finished putting all my vids in there yet and my sales are jumping by at least 50% on vids.

#2 Info about scheduling a private with my remote controlled fuck machine. While I'd occasionally do shows where I gave remote control to a high tipper or raffle winner, other than die hard regs - not everyone knew that they had this option. It lays out very clearly what the machine does, how to control it, etc... and I've had 4 privates in the last 2 weeks specifically BECAUSE they read this on my profile. One was from a reg who got 'bored' with regular privates, and hadn't taken me in a while till he saw that.

#3 Panty sales. I put my panties Back up for sale on there. Within 1 day of posting a regular of mine pmed me and said "i had no idea you sold panties!" and tipped me 100 for me to show styles on cam, and promptly followed this with 900tks for the panties and 700 for a video of me playing in them. Since then I've noticed a 75% increase in panty sales - i've had this up for about one month.

My mugs were sitting in the cabinet because I wasn't taking steps to advertise them. A regular saw this recently on my profile now that I've added it and said "I didn't know you had cups!" and is planning to save to get one next month.


As far as the 'hi tipper' lists - and people not caring about them. I do advise you place them at the bottom or near the end of your profile. The guys THAT TIP FOR THEM DO CARE. They go and check. If their name isnt on that list they want to know why. Hell, last week a guy whose time in my "puppy pound" had expired messaged me to let me know his name was still on my profile, yet his time had run out. They absolutely do check and it pays to have those names there.

So.. i guess if you OFFER a lot of things, I'd say having a profile that lists them is a GOOD idea. Make it as clean and easy to navigate as possible..mine is deff still a work in progress and I'm looking forward to getting jump to links installed. One of the reasons I have SO FEW colors on my profile - no fancy background - just white with black borders, is because I want the content to be what they look at. The pops of color come in the titles and eye catching logos (like the skype logo)

Oh and the static nav bar at the bottom = Lifesaver. All the important links can go there, and forget about them!

My profile is not done by a professional btw. I don't do any of the fancy CSS stuff that makes it look original and unique. While I think its cool, I need to have complete and quick control over my profile coding and CSS is mostly above my head. If I get stressed and confused trying to customize or change something its not worth the effort to me.

I think it totally depends...

I think more then anything--your profile should reflect your personality or personal style.

I agree that most members will not read your profile---but some will, and your regulars will!

Do you have a lot to offer? Meaning do you have a lot games, clubs, deals, videos, raffles, prizes, goal charts, tip menues etc. Do you offer panties, skype shows, signed posters etc?

I do think that if you DO offer these things, its generally a good idea to in some way mention them.

More importantly then HOW MUCH is on your profile (IMO) is how organized it is. Does not matter how much is on it, if you can't read it right?

Lolli mentioned a static link bar at the bottom--I also have this and it without a doubt a life savor

One thing I have always struggled with on my profile is how wordy it is. I feel like its boring, and I have a ton of info on it.

I changed my profile design few times because every time I had a new idea and so on... But! I observed that more than a half from people that visit my room still asking me about different things that they could find on my profile. And when someone takes 5 min from their time to read everything that I have there makes me happy

the static bar is CSS. Soemone created it for me, here's the code I use.
THIS part goes in your "Customize Profile" area under advanced CSS

talking about advertising videos - one of the more effective methods that girls dont always think about is to show free previews in chat. You can do this 2 ways.

#1 you play it on your screen and physically turn the camera around to show your screen.

#2 what i've been doing recently is to play it using manycam.

To do this you use the "VIDEO" tab go to SOURCES and click PLAYLIST then find your video. The downside is it doesnt play mp4s.

You then find the video using BROWSE - and then hit play. It will play instead of your cam. You can jump through the video using the slider to show different spots.

When youre done showing off, click back to your cam. Easy peasy.

I can usually move vids very fast if i show a quick preview when im advertising a special on it or something.

The part that makes it "static" is the position:fixed rule. A fixed position makes an HTML element stay in place on the screen even if you scroll. The inline style on your links div, "height:50px;bottom:0px" means put it at the bottom of the page and make it 50 pixels tall.

These also work from outside the page. As somebody who was totally sold by her previews to join the pound. I think it is bloody brilliant, I haven't figured out why more models to don't do this. Especially if your videos are in the expensive side say 200 tokens each or packages over 1000. Videos are tremendous crap shoot sometimes they are pretty expensive and just a cap of an existing show. Other times you can get a dozen videos, with good lighting, high resolution and even other hot models for 100 to 200 tokens. Descriptions on the profiles aren't always accurate especially the definition of HD seems vary a lot.

On the other hand a 10 second preview acts just like a movie trailer and can wet your appetite.

The other advantages are, especially if it is slow night, it gives you something else to talk about or do. Finally as a member if you never been in a models room and she is currently mostly dressed, the video preview give you an idea of what would this models cumshow look like and encourage folks to tip to make the real show happen. Remember we are pretty visual creatures when it comes to sex, a picture = 1000 words yada yada.

To be fair, I have seen 480 content shot in HD that looks great in full-screen, and 720 that looks crappy. I only care what it looks like on my end. Hair follicles are great, but they're not the main attraction. Just saying.

As one of those that actually looks at profiles... I don't bother much with the ones with tons of shit to navigate thru. I will scan it but its more like looking at carnival lights... you see the flash but dont see much of the detail unless you look at each individual lil thing.
My only suggestion, besides keep it easy to see everything and not overly busy, is keep the text friendly and contrasty enuff to be read by all. I've seen grey or pastel backgrounds with text in shades of the same color range or some extremely bright color that do jump out at you but are difficult to read. :twocents-02cents:
