I guess it depends why the person is crying. Are they crying from happiness of making out with the object of their desire? Or are they crying because they feel uncomfortable and don't want to be doing this?

In any case, if I'm making out with someone and he starts crying, I would stop immediately and ask him if he was alright.

I'm the same way! I often get very emotional while making out and can start to cry from being so thankful that the person exists. I would be super into it if my kissing partner also became emotional during.

Personally, if you chase connection you may find it...the reverse is also true. Crying due to vulnerability is common, then again crying due to humour is also common....both are awesome experiences.
Hope this answers your question. I would add that making out alone may be pushing the boundary when it comes to anything too intense (teens excepted).

I wouldn't say it's "normal" but sure it can happen. You may cry because you are incredibly happy or, say, because you have to part from your SO for a long time.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, I feel like, as I grow older, the less emotional I get. I don't know exactly why, maybe it's just me becoming some sort of cynical asshole over time.

It’s not normal as in common. I’ve never had it happen (either myself or the person I was kissing) and tbh it would freak me out, unless we’d just been reunited after months or something. But crying during an average makeout session would make me a bit uncomfortable.

I think it's subjective in the sense that it depends on context and the headspace of the participant (s). I've cried a few times while making out before in different senarios. It was always from overwhelming thoughts and feelings rushing my head, and honestly was such a spontaneous reaction that it surprised me. Not all crying is sad! Sometimes it's just your body and mind responding to a very good release. Crying in itself can be viewed as a release of feelings and energy. I would classify it pretty "normal" when viewed within that type of context ; passion, energy, happiness and release.
