International Wire Transfer to Canada

I want to change my method of payment from cheque to international wire transfer and it asked for a SWIFT code. And I know this is a stupid question, but to get the code I need to know. The money is being send in US currency right? I'm assuming the answer is yes but I just don't want to fuck it up and not receive my money (need to pay off my visa asap).

Yes they pay in US currency. Your bank shouldn't need to know what currency you are receiving though? That seems strange to me. I have received wires from MFC to both my Vancity and TD accounts and no one there ever asked me the currency! They just told me the code I needed..

You just have to call your bank and ask for the SWIFT code and that's all you need.

For Canadian girls, did you put in just the account number, or the IBAN number?
Also, my bank told me I might need to put in the routing number as well? Should I just put that in the space for extra info?

I'm using Royal Bank.

I emailed MFC, but half the time they don't respond to questions. So, just thought I'd ask here as well.
