Maybe I've just been oblivious to it before, but been noticing more and more models using connected toys to boost tips without actually using the toy and curious on some clarity after finding this post. Wondering if this is a trend others are noticing, if doing this is new or always been, if it's just an accepted thing within the community, people thoughts on it, the ethics, if it's even allowed by the sites, etc etc+.
First type of scenario I've seen related to this topic is like what's detailed in the screenshot, where the toy isn't connected yet being used as if it is (toy is off completely or on but levels/patterns are set by streamer). Haven't seen it occurring as much with the lush but it's 100% noticeable with domi, especially if the room has a good mic. Next scenario I think of as kind of a bait and switch where the lovense menu will show one type of toy is connected but something different is being used or pretending to be used. Last scenario is when it's just blatantly obvious no toy is being used at all. For all of these scenarios, commonalities are the lovense menu is up and running. showing queue, countdown time, etc while actively being promoted by either the model, automated chat messages, mods, or combination of them and are occurring over an extended period of time.
Personally I'm of the mindset that tips speak louder than words so have no plans to start calling models out on it or run off reporting people for it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit more skeptical and hesitant to tip for anything toy related after noticing this. The deliberate deception of it all absolutely makes this a scam in my opinion and one that effects not only the ones doing it but all streamers by potentially causing increased skepticism of viewers and their hesitancy to tip . Also entirely possible that I'm making something out of absolutely nothing. However you view it, I'm interested to hear your thoughts on things.
