AmberCutie's Forum
An adult community for cam models and members to discuss all the things!

I want to start streaming in VR, but I don’t have the equipment yet! 😭

I’ve been focused solely on content creation for over two years, but I’m considering going live again with a new goal: saving up for VR streaming gear. Would this be a smart move? I feel like being live would also help promote the idea along the way.

For those who’ve invested in VR for camming: was it worth it? I’d love to hear recommendations and, of course, your experiences! 😊

There have been a few members here really into VR, but I don't think any of us models who are super active on this forum have ever tried streaming VR. The price of the equipment, for a gamble on outcome, isn't super appealing to any of us.

I'm not even sure if all of the main cam sites support it.
A lot of us want the freedom to split cam several sites at once, these days.

You are right! It is NOT supported in most sites and is not popular at the moment, it's just starting. Which means 💸💸💸💸💸💸 high demand, not many models, clients feel exclusive cause they can see it in one or two sites, like theyre living a superior experience, something "secret" no one knows much yet -ETC
and you know, all that works

The tech requirements you need are pretty specific in some areas.
Won't work MAC OS, they recommend at least 70Mbps upload speed, AMD graphics chips won't work...

ETA: I found the thread by the camera company, Dreamcam

Could be get in touch with the rep as well... @Olivia_Dreamcam
Dreamcam is an agency (or maybe a studio?) that owns the camsite offering real VR streaming—unlike Stripchat, where most models are just doing regular shows but still appear in the VR category for some reason. 🤷‍♀️
Now, back to our situation! 😆 Dreamcam sells these specialized cameras exclusively for their models, so their setup is quite different. Their system has some strict tech requirements, including:
❌ No macOS support
📶 Minimum 70 Mbps upload speed (pretty demanding!)
🖥️ No AMD graphics chips

i think make videos in VR before streaming. that's a pretty big niche for camming. might be better to create the traffic for it before jumping right into VR streams.

I have no advice but let us know how it goes if you decide to do it.

I'm far too much of a control freak to let someone wander around at their whim.
