I am a studio model and my studio owner has refused to pay me. I want to make an independent account so I can work for myself now. The studio owner has threatened to have my documents banned if I leave the studio. I would like to be removed from the studio without getting banned and make an independent account. @Charlie_SC @Stella_SC

Detaching a model account from a studio account

If a model is registered under a studio, that model account is owned by the studio.
If a model wishes to leave a studio, you can ask the studio to detach your account from their studio so you can continue using the same account. The studio can do this from their studio account settings.
Note: you may have specific contract clauses with the studio (this is agreed upon and between models and the studio when you sign up with them)

If a studio agrees to detach you, it means you can continue to use that model account on your own as an individual model. Other than adding your own payment details, nothing else changes.


What can you do if the studio refuses to release your account?

This means you can no longer use that account if you want to be an independent model
But you can open a brand new account

1. Sign up for a new independent model account: https://stripchat.com/become-a-model
2. Complete all your info and details
3. Upload your documents again
4. We will check/verify your new account (as long as there are no standing contract clauses with your studio)
5. Once we approve/register the new account, your documents on the old studio account will be automatically deactivated
6. You can then proceed to use your new independent account

I keep seeing models flying a Kenyan flag with the "new" tag which means they are being allowed to sign up somehow. Are they allowing the studios to add models still but not taking independents? @Charlie_SC

Without me checking the models you are referring to, I'm speculating, but..

if someone registered on our site 6 months ago (for example), and the account was verified and approved..
maybe that model took a long time to set up their profile, update content, etc.,
or they just were not ready to start streaming,
or many other reasons..
and today that model decided to start streaming for the first time, then the NEW tag will appear on that account.

The New tag appearing today on a new account does not mean the model opened a new account today and was registered/approved today.

@Charlie_SC I know a model from Kenya that is in a same situation. How can she chek if her account is connected to a studio account ?
If her account is not connected to a studio account, can she technically just change the password and the email of her account to gain freedom from the "studio" ? (leaving aside the contract clauses for now). Does her "studio" then need to confirm the email or password change with their email, that is already set or can she change the password or email without needing to have access to the old email?

How does a model know if she's connected to a studio?

• If a model is linked to a studio, she knows she is linked to the studio.
• Either the studio opened the account for her (with her present as she had to provide her info/documents for verification), or she contacted Support herself and asked us to link her independent model account to the studio.
• Also, if she is connected to a studio, then the studio pays the model (in whatever agreement is made between the model and studio), therefore SC does not generate payments on the model account.

How does a model change her studio email and password?

• All studios have different ways of running their studios and their model accounts so this is not something I can answer.
• If a model is with a studio that has access to the email on that account, then the studio will be notified if she tries to change either of these as they will get the email notification to confirm the changes.

What can a model from Kenya do if she is linked to a studio and wants to leave the studio?

• If a model from Kenya is currently linked to a studio and wants to leave, she will not be able to open a new independent account as we are currently not accepting new registrations from her region.
• The only way for this model to unlink her account from the studio is to request this from the studio and hope they comply with her request and manually detach her account from the studio.

Note: once a model account is linked with a studio, the ownership of that account belongs to the studio.

You can make a individual account once you verify your individual account the document uploaded in the studio account will be automatically remove so don't worry just create a new individual account and verify yourself

That is true for models from most countries but she is from Kenya and for some unknown, top secret, national security reason they are not allowing new model accounts to anyone with ID from Kenya. So if you are a model from Kenya you can stay at the studio and be mistreated ( or unpaid) or quit Stripchat at this point.

Ohh I was thinking she is from India, i didn't check her profile it was my mistake
