Hi,I want to start in this industry because my parents are not supporting me in my education. How do you become a webcam male model?
Do you have to choose an agency?
Do you earn a salary from this career?
Can you make a lot of money if you start in the gay industry and private shows?
What are the advantages and disavantages of this career?
Is it true that if you join this field you will get easy money? I once saw an ad where it told me that a male would gain 5000 euros or more for the chatting with someone else and pretending that you have sexual intercourses with that person.
Is this a dream come true? I don't have experience in this field and this is the reason why I'm asking the members of this community.
How can I be certain that this is not a scam?

How do you become a webcam male model?

Choose a camsite you’d like to stream on, get verified, start steaming.

Do you have to choose an agency?

No. It’s always best to be independent. Don’t sign up with random online studios, because they will offer very little (or be outright scams) and will take a percentage of your earnings.

Do you earn a salary from this career?

Your earnings will be made from tips, private shows, clip sales, etc. Cam sites don’t pay you an hourly wage.

Can you make a lot of money if you start in the gay industry and private shows?

Depends on what you consider a lot of money. Few models make crazy money right at the beginning, and I’d assume even fewer male models get crazy popular and make bank right when they start out. It usually takes time, effort and consistency to build up a following and make very good money. But again, this depends on what you consider a lot.

What are the advantages and disavantages of this career?

Advantages:
-Work from home
-Make your own hours
-The ability to make more an hour than you would at a vanilla job (though this is never a guarantee)

Disadvantages:
-Sex work, while becoming more mainstream, is still stigmatized and that can follow you around even after you’ve left the industry
-Potentially being outted as a sex worker to your family/friends and if they don’t agree with it risking it messing up those relationships
-It could possibly ruin future career endeavors. Many jobs have morality clauses, so if it was discovered you’ve done sex work in the past, your job could legally fire you if your contract included a morality clause
-People on the internet are not nice. If you don’t have a thick skin the stuff you will more than likely have to hear/put up with from trolls/rude members will get to you

Is it true that if you join this field you will get easy money? I once saw an ad where it told me that a male would gain 5000 euros or more for the chatting with someone else and pretending that you have sexual intercourses with that person.

Already basically answered this, but no. $5000 euros is close to $5500 USD. If you’re thinking that you will make that much money in one day off one person, you might want to look somewhere else to make money. That’s the sort of money that top models make. There’s a lot of models who don’t make over $5000 in a month streaming daily.

While it’s not totally outside the realm of possibility, your chances of doing that well, especially right away, are extremely slim. I’m not trying to be mean, but it just seems like you have a very unrealistic idea of what the industry is like.

How can I be certain that this is not a scam?

Sign up with a big name site. Chaturbate and Stripchat are good token sites that allow male models and Streamate is good if you want to do more private shows. Read the TOS and what is allowed/not allowed before you stream. You seem very naive and it’s naive newbies who go on stream and get tricked by nefarious members into doing shows that are against TOS and then they get banned and lose all their earnings.

This is not easy money. Especially as a male cammer unless you have a highly desirable look, giant penis, or incredible luck and most likely need all of the above. Get easy money out of your head as it requires a ton of effort for little reward especially in the beginning and with the market as saturated as it is. 90%+ of models quit within a few months and that includes female models. Mostly because they think it's easy money and they don't put the effort in behind the scenes and don't have the grit to stay so they become disenchanted with the work and do other jobs.

Do not do camming if you're looking at furthering education for a career that has anything to do with morality clauses or if your work history in the cam world would negatively impact your future career goals. I have 2 degrees already and pretty good positions held prior to camming. Internet is forever and I'm aware this career would definitely impact some future choices I could make.

No matter what, you need to do your own research. Looks like you haven't done much if you think sites might give salaries. Other than the VERY detailed response you got from the lovely Marceline, you'll need to rely on researching yourself as answering that many questions is probably unusual. This forum has a ton of answers and situations already supplied. You sound very young and a bit naive and that's not an insult, that's just a warning that this industry is pretty cruel to newbies. You'll need quite a thick skin and a ton of grit if you want to make it.

Camming is work. And because it is sex work, you need to understand exactly what that means. The responses above from @Danigirl and @Marceline are filled with excellent advice.

Do your homework. Spend time watching other popular male models and ask yourself if you cold do the same thing. Then spend time watching not-so-popular male models so you can see what it will be like for you as a new model.

And ultimately, remember that the internet does not forget. Once you put yourself online with sex work or camming, it can end up there forever. And that may not be something you want for yourself.

Thanks for the advices. I'll try this career so that I can earn enough money to start a new life.
I tried going to college but unfortunately my father hasn't supported me with money and that is why I started this thread,
It's so easy when you have support from your parents.....

Hi. Being an adult's not easy. Twice in this thread you've made a dig at your parents for not paying your college expenses. Instead of going through life blaming your parents for things you didn't do, you could make an effort to get a job that pays hourly, and complete a FAFSA and apply for some financial aid for your education. I love using Indeed for job searches.

If you have good internet and a computer at home, you could get yourself a work from home job...possibly even one that allows you to work whenever you want.

If single mothers can work a job, care for their child(ren), and take college courses, then I'm sure a young man like you can make something happen for yourself, if you truly want to take college courses. :)

if you want to success on cam streaming, you need to do it as a hobby and forget money, if money is your top motivation I am sure it will be hard to success in this field.

Spoken like someone who knows absolutely nothing about being a cam model.

Camming is a job for a lot of people. I’d say the majority of cam models you see online are doing it because it is their job. And why have a job? Oh yeah, to make money. Money is what motivates you to stay online on slow nights. Money is what motivates you to deal with annoying members. Money is what motivates you to go online on a weekend night when you’d rather curl up on the couch and watch a movie or go out with friends. Money is a terrific motivator. And honestly, do you think successful models who put extensive time and effort into their shows and content are just treating this as a “hobby”?

People who treat camming like a hobby don’t get very far in this industry. They also don’t get taken seriously here. Hobby wankers/industry tourists are a blight on the industry, because they only see it as a hobby (and hobby is a stretch, it’s just a way for them to get off or spice up their personal sex life) and generally end up doing stuff (blatantly violating tos for example) that makes actual industry workers look bad.

I'll try this career so that I can earn enough money to start a new life.

…Did you actually read everything that Danigirl and I wrote? I still think you are incredibly naive and need to do some extensive research before you get on cam and alter your expectations.

But, you’re going to do what you want in the end. Good luck.

This is the worst possible advice you can give someone interested in the getting into the industry and is in need of money. You wouldnt give this advice to any other jobs.

OP if you are desperate for funds, recommend getting an hourly pay job. Camming/sex work is 100% commission pay only. There is nothing wrong with working in fast food or a gas station. Fast food places are more flexible to college students with their hours since most of their employees are students. Taco Bell pays like $15/hr now here in the US. Not to mention you can actually use it on your resume when you finish school.

Comming from someone who does camming for a living........
I live with my mom who is unemployed and I can't get a job because that would ruin my college life and that would mean that I would have to quit college and get a job.
My life with my parents isn't easy and I don't mind fooling myself in front of a camera.
My life is ruined I have a home with my mom but all that she does is blaming my dad for destroying the apparment in which we lived. My life is shitty and if I don't try camming I would simply die of hunger.
I don't live in the USA I live in Europe and in my country there are no supporting institutes....

Camming is a job, so if getting a job would "ruin your college life" then you're fucked.

You are entitled and niave and camming is doing to go very very badly for you the way you're talking. But by all means give it a shot lol...

You don't die of hunger if you live with your mom. If you get a regular job and don't go to college you also won't die of hunger.

You could try a hunger strike on cam lol

Am I attractive? Can I become an attractive male model if I am like this picture?

Your attitude and aura is completely unattractive tbh not even looking at the picture. You could be a replica of a greek god but if your attitude sucks you won't last long. You'll need a good personality on cam and so far it just seems like you're blaming everyone for your issues and your parents not paying for college. That's incel like attitude. So an absolute turn off. I paid for my own university degree while working full time and doing school full time. No one owes you anything when you're an adult. Sooner you take ownership for your own self and figure shit out the better.

As I know enjoying what you do is the success key to succeed in any independent or freelancing work, I will give an example of big footballers who play with big teams and big singers who get billions of views. those people when they just start their carrer they do not focus in money, they just enjoy what they do (big players when they played football for the first time and continue playing it did not do it for money and did not focus on money, they just do it because they enjoy playing football and because they love it and they take it as a hobby. the same for singers when they first started singing they did not focus on money, they just do it because they love singing & music. Then after hard work doing what you love and enjoy success and money come one day)

Yeah thats not realistic. Those people had jobs paying the bills before they were earning a liveable wage let alone millions of dollars. A small percentage of musicians, athletes, and mainstream entertainers reach that level of success.

But please keep camsplaining how this industry works. You are hilarious. ☺️

I don't understand. You need to have a personality in front of a camera? Don't you just pretend that you are showing your sex work to others?
What you are saying makes no sense! It's a sex job, isn't that what webcaming is? Playing with dildos and sucking dicks?

Wow. Yeah this isn't the field for you at all. You lack even the basic comprehension of being a cam model.

Yeah, this post right here just solidifies that camming/sex work isn’t the right fit for you.

Of course you need to have a likable personality. Why do you think people pay cam models instead of watching free porn? Because of the interaction. If you have a shitty personality/attitude, why would someone want to interact with you and spend their money on you?

There’s a lot more to camming than just playing with yourself on camera. It’s crazy that you’ve done so little research that you don’t know that, yet you want to jump on cam and expect to make $5000 a day. Wild.

Well, please explain why this is not a good choice of a career. All that you do is critisize me without being helpful....

Except the criticism how can I become a model that is accepted by others? What do you have to do in front of a camera?
Can anyone from here please explain to me how you can be liked by your customers in this field?

If you are asking us if you are attractive enough, you arent fit for this industry. You can be a greek god and still struggle to make a nickel.

Hi there. I'm somewhat of an exhibitionist, so I was naked on the internet long before I decided to make it a "carrer". It's desirable, though not essential, to enjoy what you do for work. I'm lucky enough to be able to make money doing things related to activities I do for fun. And I say "related to" because once you make something a "carrer", you need to focus on taxes, legalities, scheduling, logistics. Spreadsheets, spreadsheets, spreadsheets. And beyond that, it's necessary to cater to the market. Do you imagine that those footballers you speak of choose which team to play for out of pure love for the sport? You are naive at best.

Get a therapist and ask them.
Why do you have to make fun of me? I simply wanted an answer from you but you keep throwing shit at me.
I haven't done anything to anyone in this forum and I wanted to find out if I am fit for this career or not.

First, do your homework. This forum is a treasure trove of useful information for anyone just starting out in camming.

Second, you have to be charismatic and entertaining and that’s not something you can be taught.

Third, you have to accept that even if you’re the most talented, attractive, charismatic, likable person to exist, that still doesn’t guarantee your success.

Fourth, there isn’t just one thing you do in front of the camera that is going to make you liked or do well. Different things work for different people. There’s non-nude models who are highly successful because they found a camming style that works for them.

We’re not trying to be mean, but like we’ve already said, just from your posts on this thread, it doesn’t seem like you’re cut out for camming.

if your even ready any messages in this thread, THEY ARE telling you whats needed to be a cam model/sex worker. The fact that you keep asking shows your not fully ready what people are saying here.
If your only seeing it all as being negative replies, i also agree with them, its not for you. But feel free to give it a shot and see how it all works out for you.

Well, please explain why this is not a good choice of a career. All that you do is critisize me without being helpful....
Just reading through this thread I am simultaneously gobsmacked and not even surprised considering some of the crap we see on this forum.

Before anyone started criticising you, multiple people gave you very kind, sincere and useful advice and you straight up just ignored it and started saying things to belittle workers in this industry.

If you seriously do want to give this a shot and stand a chance, watch cam rooms. Watch what other models do and you'll begin to understand how this works and how it is so SO little to do with actually "playing with dildos" and how pretty you are and all about personality, charm and tact. Of which you come across as having very little.

At first I read you as very young and naive, as I think everyone else did and I felt sorry for you. After reading all this, I'm now inclined to think you are a. a troll b. getting off sexually on being criticised (the photo thing makes me think this is the most likely option) or c. mentally not well and perhaps should seek some professional help instead of the help you clearly don't appreciate here.
