So It's been a year since I did camming for a little bit (I had to stop because I was too difficult trying to sneakily do it at 3am) I'm able to do it again so was considering it. My friend informed me that he found videos of me taken from my streams and uploaded to crushus and I think a few other sites (don't go on that website it's filled with viruses). Found them when I googled my cam name.

Now we're pretty sure that those are just automated things taken from random streams to get clicks, and it only like 15 views or so. But still I didn't even think about people taking footage of my streams. Is there any way to prevent this from happening or preventing a real person from taking footage / what can you do if it does happen? I suppose all you can do is report the video and hope it gets taken down. It's scary

In short, yes this is going to happen and no there is really no way to prevent it. It happens less in private sessions but even that is not a guarantee. Most sites will request that you file a DMCA to have content removed, do so using your stage name. This is such a hard thing to control even websites like pornhub are starting to work with models to pay them for their stolen content.

yikes that's scary and offputting but with such a risky job what else did I expect. You joined this site when I was 13 so I imagine you've been camming a long time. Have you ever had any really bad experiences if you don't mind me asking? Sorry if it seems too personal I just want to be prepared. I hope that doesn't come across as rude.

I might still give it a go again. I wasn't sure how long I wanted to cam for, so I was nervous about having videos of me put online that I can't control. My biggest fear is being outed but I'm working on that. Really thinking about it, it probably wouldn't be a big deal and I already know I have friends that support me. Kind of rambling to myself now haha

That sucks. But it’s also not a good idea to tell people on a public forum the name of the site with your stolen content.

Ive never had a bad experience in a way that I thought my life or safety was threatened. I guess being outted to begin with was a bit stressful and was def a bad experience at the time, but I look back at it now and Im so glad it happened. I cant imagine spending 10+ years in this industry and trying to keep it a secret from my friends/family. In the beginning I would try to keep all my pirated content down but it just became impossible so I just embrace it and try to earn as much money as I can through pornhub and xvideo. Others prefer to fight the system and try to keep as much content down as possible- there are actually companies who do this for you now. The biggest thing is to go into it with the understanding that anything you put on the internet has the chance to resurface as any point. Just bc it gets taken down once doesn't mean it wont show back up again down the road.

I would suggest to keep an eye out for those videos continuously since there are websites specifically made for uploading clips and shows of cam models and people download them and put them on other sites too. So they’re always afloat.

There's no real way of stopping anybody from recording your streams or shows.
Best bet is to work with tube sites that offer payment for uploaded content. Write them to claim ownership of your videos whenever you find one. If the sites don't offer payment or won't transfer ownership of the videos back to to you, DMCA-notice their ass.
The extra mile would be to register a domain under your cam name, form an LLC or sole-proprietor, and start applying for copyrights or trademarks. This way if you issue DMCA claims and notices it will really freak out the not-so-legit tube sites, and the larger ones which do offer payouts will be very happy to pay out.
Stealth camming worked maybe 5 years ago, not any more.

It's really much easier to make money off of your videos on porn hub then spend time doing DCMA. And no one is going to pay them for your content if they can get it on pornhub for free.

DMCA-notice their ass..

If you DCMA anything , make sure not use your name, email, real name, extra. Check out Sending DMCA requests before sending any DCMA out. Most of the cam sites will do DCMA for you. But there are several sites that just completely ignore DMCA.
