I want to prevent really short pvts. How do you set a min for pvts? do you have then tip an amount first? do u threaten a ban if they dont stay for an amount? what is your method?

i put in my topic "privates must be 400 tokens long". if the person cuts short i send them a pm and ask why. sometimes they get disconnected, sometimes theyre just dicks. i block them if they take me to private and waste my time :)

the threat of a ban usually works for me
if I want to go private with someone, it probably means I want to come back at a later time

but then again, my average private is 550 tokens (if not more)... not super long, but not so short that one can't have a good time

I don't set a minimum for privates and generally I get longer ones (I've only had 2 short privates this month and neither one was for less than 200 tokens, so no 30 second shows or anything).

All of the things you've mentioned are good ways to encourage longer privates.

Generally, however, I've seen very few models request a tip first and THEN a private. Usually only really popular models can get away with that. (If you think about it, if a guy has 500 tokens to spend on you, but you have a 500 token minimum and demand 200 tokens up front, he probably isn't going to be happy about either spending $20 extra or getting a 5 minute show instead of an 8 minute show).

I do not discuss minimum private lengths beforehand, but if a member has beforehand taken me to a short private, I would likely not accept a private from him again.

If a member is just looking for drive-by privates, there's a good chance he's never seen you before and isn't interested in coming back, so he won't care if he gets banned. Minimum amounts really only count for regulars or guys that want to be welcomed back.

The reason models want a minimum private amount is because otherwise, they would lose money. If a model has 100 people in her room and is getting tips, a 60 token private might lose her money because when she comes back, 20 people will be in her room and it'll take a while to get people back in.

However, if you're not making tokens in public chat or your room count isn't super high, you probably don't have a reason to do minimum private times. I'm not saying you should undersell yourself, but the mechanic for minimum tokens spent is there for higher earning models who can potentially lose business by going private.
