If you are not a broadcaster, if you are not an app developer, or a profile designer -- there is literally no reason to have a public profile on CB. Your age and location are irrelevant and any pics you want to send can now be sent in PM. Go ahead and lock that up and maybe the proliferation of DMs will subside and become a waste of time for these broadcasters who try to target rooms for poaching.
I do have my room password protected. All of these messages were sent to me by complete unknowns, other broadcasters who were in the same model's room where I was actively tipping. I've never visited their room(s), nor ever DM'd or tipped them.
That's what I had been doing previously, but a recent thread here (about the DM inbox showing a number of unread messages but some don't appear when you open the DM window) reminded me that I'd prefer to just delete the messages completely.

Oh wow okay I see where it is now. You can right click on someone's name and send a DM. I just sent a grey name I have a DM. All restrictions bypassed.

Same thing happens to me. I just left a CB model’s room. I was there for about 40 minutes, and I got DMs from 4 random models in that time (beginning roughly when I started tipping).
In each case, they were not in the room anymore by the time I saw the DM message. I guess they’re accustomed to having to be fast, in order to evade bans from the models they are trying to poach business from.
You can send DM to a password room.
If you don't want DM's (and you're not a broadcaster) then ban all regions.
You can also ban genders but you always have to keep one gender.
You can not remove DM's but as soon as you ban their region or gender they will be invisible
you can also ban or ignore them but a user normally got no access to these functions.
