Hey Guys! Newbie Grace here... so I had an experience the past few days of my first week where I have still allowed Models in my room, and I have some regulars or Premiums mail or PM me to let me know that the models are poaching...
I've read the thread on "Why do models ban other models", but my question is a little different and I didnt find it in the search...

1) To Models: If you want to just let models come to your room, then how do you address the situation to the room or model personally (other than banning obviously)? and do you think they actually take any/many members?
2) To Members/Guys: Have you been poached from a Model's room by another or had an attempt? If so what do you do in the situation? Ignore? Tell the model? Go to the other room if you think it's better? Call the poacher out in public chat?

All opinions for handling this rude behaviour are welcome :)

Thanks for having me on ACF btw! xx

Members who tip occasionally get PMs from models, even when no model accounts in the room. Sometimes it is because we get spotted by pimps, and sometimes models have premiums accounts for that purpose. Banning model accounts is no protection against that kind ofbthing.

The main reason to ban model accounts is that they are a distraction. I've never been tempted to go visit a model I have been contacted by while in another model's room. If I am in a model's room, it is because I have chosen to be there, rather than in another model's room.

I don't think that amodel would have anything to gain by making a big deal about in her chat, though. Ban anyone who gets out of line and get on with entertaining your room and keep the vibe positive and focused on you.

I know there have been a few times that I've been PMd by models I don't know and they are usually 'Hi, hey the model you're watching seems busy, why not try out me?' type poach line. I usually PM the models room I'm in and let them know and I've set my account to only accept PMs from people on my friends list, so that fixed that.

Ages ago I spoke for a while to one of the models that was trying to gain wider exposure by taking this route and she said she checked the galleries of the most popular models, and PMd all the members in 'best tip' galleries. She said it was worth is as out of 100 PMs she would get 99 'fuck offs' and 1 member that she knew was a big tipper having a conversation with her and maybe visit her room. So those highest tip photos are like an advertisement to some poachers!

An option to let models in your room is to welcome the models you trust to come in on their premium accounts.

I know tons of models who have premium accounts on MFC.

I always think it's funny when models try to poach me when I'm tipping another model. Please, girl! :hand:

I think the best course of action for EVERYONE is:

Members: set your PMs to FRIENDS ONLY. Add only models you would like to PM you to your friends list. Problem solved.

When a member tells me a model is PMing him, I ban her, PM her to tell her to behave herself, and set her account to ignore. That's pretty much all you can do.

I've always had my PM's set to open so anyone can chat with me. Never really had a problem with it. There's been a few models that have tried to send a PM saying I should come join them. But they usually stop with just one so I can't really say it's annoying to me. Honestly the best approach I've found is to try to start up a conversation with them. They send you a PM saying 'Hi Cutie, how's it going?' Try replying back with 'Not too bad, I just got back from the pizza buffet and I am stuffed. So I've just been sitting here being lazy till I decide I REALLY have to get up and go poop. Until then I'm just perving on a few ladies and listening to music. You like 70's music hun? Gosh the Doors were a great band don't you think so? That was when music was real music, not today's auto-tuned schlock. So what's your day been like?'

Yeah, confuses the hell out of them. :hello2:

As a mere member, I've never considered it a "problem" requiring a solution. It's not like it happens every few minutes, or even every week, at least for me. Some of the PMs I get are members asking about how things work a room I'm visiting or with MFC in general, and I have no objection to those.

Not really. I've had random models PM me (back when I was new to MFC and hadn't changed my PMs to friends only) but they weren't in the room I was in (at least not on their model accounts). Oh, and while setting PMs to models-only obviously stopped those random PMs, I still occasionally get random MFC Mail from models I don't know. Some asking me to visit their rooms, some "accidentally" sending me the passwords to galleries or download links for videos, and others wanting to set up skype dates. I suppose I could hide my tokens/points and probably reduce that but it doesn't really bother me. I just delete the mail and go on with my life.

On the other hand, I've met some really cool models (including one of my long-time favorites and a new one who may likely become a favorite) when they've been visiting other models' rooms. (Although I was somewhat amused recently when the long-term favorite said she felt weird about the new model being in her room. Hey, did you forget how I met you? LOL.) They weren't poaching… they were just participating in the chat because they enjoyed watching the model and wanted to hang out. (Yes, a premium account would work, but a lot of new models don't have a premium account right away.)

So as a member, I kind of like it when models allow other models in their rooms because for me it's been a great way to find other models I like. (Which is something I normally find extremely difficult.) But of course I can see how models might not like it.

Some of my favorite models allow other models in their rooms. Others don't (but some welcome models who are on premium accounts). I haven't seen any real problems. Of course, sometimes models have to ban or ignore other models, but it's not that common. And really, if you're banning or ignoring members every day, then doing the same to a model once every few weeks isn't that big a deal, is it?

I get more PM from random members than random models (About once a week for models if I am on a lot). I figure models have to make a living and while they often send me PMs in models room sometimes I get PMs while I am in the lobby. I've even visited a couple of models that have sent me PMs out of the blue and even tipped them. I've also had model apologize when I said hey "I am watching another model this is rude to poach."

I keep PM open because at least 75% of the PMs I get are reasonable questions and even have lead to meeting some nice members.

The ones that piss me off way worse than the poaching are the ones where a basic or premium, PM asking me to tip the model to show her ass or play a song or something. I always tell them to buy tokens before blocking them. Is it ok for me to ask/tip the model to ban the fucking freeloader for
their chutzpah?

Models on their model account in another model's chatroom is a huge distraction. I don't think models should allow this. Period.

Models who are on your friend list can still access your chatroom on their member account. While its still a distraction for them to be there, at least this limits it to girls who you are friendly with.

Models in a model's chatroom on their premium account can still be up to no good. I may say it's even more shady the way some girls go about this. Being the model's cheerleader, acting like a friend, but still taking PMs from the model's viewers and having personal conversations with them, leading them to eventually feel inclined to check out your room if they hadn't known the girl before...

... this happens.

This is why I suggest that models visiting other models follow a sort of etiquette:

1. Don't announce who you are if you are visiting on a model account. Don't even lead on that you're another girl or model. Don't use bright pink girly font. Just be a dude, lol. (You can tell the model who you are via PM/MFC mail/tip note, then it's up to them if they share the info, unless you tell them not to.)

2. Don't discuss yourself sexually if it is known that you're a female/model. It's distracting to the models room you're in.

3. Don't be an annoying cheerleader, and especially don't offer your own content/prizes for people to tip the model whose room you're in. It's a subtle shady attention whore move.

Ditto to everything Amber said, including the annoying cheerleader behavior that some models display ("Come on, guys...tip this lady!"). That model's intentions may be good, but it's just weird. I don't need a fellow model calling attention to the fact that members aren't tipping me. The lack of tips is embarrassing enough...the fact that it's happening while another model is in my room makes it even more embarrassing. And besides, I've never seen the 'pressuring-other-guys-in-the-room-to-tip-her-like-I-just-did''approach work, so models need to stop this. I'm sure the guys don't appreciate another person telling them what to do.

That will depend on the model. In my room, anyone who's a regular tipper can ask me to ban anyone who's not a regular for any reason. Anyone who's a regular can ask me to ban guests/basics who are getting too annoying (sometimes I seem to have an infinite amount of patience, and some members know how to toe the line without doing anything actually bannable). I always appreciate a member who points out that another member is being troublesome to other members.

Unfortunately, if it's a case of a member pming you, I'm going to need some proof before I ban, unless it's a basic and you ask for the ban in a reasonable tip-note. (which, I find 5 tokens reasonable in the case of a basic, so I think any tipnote-worthy tip is reasonable?)

Also, guests get 3 strikes (as a group) in my room, or until a premium member asks that they be muted. And certain things cost more than one strike.

I think what LilyEvans suggested is also a good solution for guys who are just too nice to tell a model to fuck off...lol. If you're one of those guys who "doesn't want to be mean" to the poaching model, then consider setting your PMs to friends only.

Yes, I would want to know. I'd also want to know if a freeloader is PMing a member to ask him for a free video. Like LadyLuna, I'd also like to see proof (send me a screen shot) of this happening.

Not much you can do really especially when members give models access to their prem accounts.
Sat in 10K lounge the other week when a model pm's out the blue.
I knew she was sniffing me out so made a comment in the lounge, she instantly pm'ed me back saying how dare you say that about me.
She was sat in there on a members account which he admitted he gave to her.
Just one of the many ways those that decide to do this kind of thing.

I ignore it and view it as just another form of internet spam. If I know the model well enough then I will send her a pm to let her know that someone is messaging the people in her room. I don't call them out in public as that is the models business, not mine. I don't interfere with a model running her room as I don't think that is ever a good idea.

:-D Thanks so much for all the good advice and responses from both sides of the camera!

It obviously isn't that common of an issue but for a new girl it can be quite daunting to feel as though even the girls can be pests.

Maybe this thread should have included a name and shame for girls who do it because I think they need to be made aware that it's against etiquette and that I doesn't really seem to get them anywhere (usually) from the responses posted by members.

Different rooms, different thoughts but all very valid and there are definitely some model to model no nos that would ideally be addressed :)

Ta!

No, no, NO! That's bad etiquette. We don't do things like that here, we're a community of girls that takes care of each other. We may need to complain once in awhile but to publicly shame someone isn't okay.

And it doesn't take long for these girls to reveal themselves, anyway. Poaching isn't exactly a secret act. Best to just ban and/or ignore.
