How Did You Come Up With Your Cam/User Name?

This is one of my favorite threads. I adore seeing how our personas online give insight into our personalities, plus word play = nerd joy.

I picked Alice because I love Alice in wonderland and ttlg (through the looking glass) because that seems an accurate way of describing caming you go/ watch through the looking glass (computer screen) and experience a wonderland of fantasy exploration. I use the last name Lovegood because Luna Lovegood is another one of those characters that resonated with me. I wanted a name that was real sounding but could hint at being a porn name so Alice Lovegood works

I want to update since I changed it 6 months ago and just changed to the same name back again I was trying to find a one syllable surname, I was really close to CarinaGrace as someone had suggested a couple years ago to me in the M.O. section but that was already taken. "Que Sera, Sera" by Doris Day started playing in my iTunes before I could say goodbye to my thinking cap and hello to Google. She's a cutie. I need to re-watch Pillow Talk one of these days :love2: Plus I think there's a lot of room for word play since I share my "days" online

When I was in elementary school, the internet was kinda just starting to blossom into an entertainment thing. A website that I frequented for fans of a certain fantasy novel series added a role playing chat room and it had a character generator. Lili Sparks is actually a shortened version of the name that site generated for my character—my first ever username. So I've kinda been Lili Sparks for almost my whole life. It feels completely natural to use this name.

Artaeus came from (badly - I was young) Latinising my real name, then deciding it didn't feel quite right. Chopping a few letters here and there and I was happy!

I use it everywhere //Unless some sneaky turd has pinched it! On those occasions I go for the incredibly imaginative I_Am_Artaeus (cunning eh?!)\\ so if you run into an Artaeus anywhere, it's probably me! (Don't be afraid to say hi) MFC being what it is, that gets shortened further to just Art (and in some places Arge_).

Occasionally I'll put on the cloak of TheGrinRipper. He got his name from a visitor to Morella's room who asked to see her grin ripper tattoo. It was too good a name to pass up, so off I scurried to claim it! :lol:

I really thought that idea was neat. The contrast between the insect and the beautiful jewelry is what I like.

Insects are like alien looking to me with their exoskeleton, they are also kind of primitive and prehistoric looking. That natural design against the more elegant feminine beauty strikes a cord with me. I always like that mix of what's conventionally even seen as 'ugly' sometimes (the bugs) with what's conventionally seen as beautiful (the jewels). It is sort of a Yin Yang symbol to me with both light and dark elements to it. Just like we all have light and dark elements to our thinking and personalities. All emotions and ideas even the so-called ugly or darker ones should be appreciated, understood, expressed, and not feared or suppressed. I think that's how humans strike a balance in life.

Also the cocoon is like a warm safe place to me. Almost like a womb. Or a home. Where your surround yourself with beautiful things and you go there to rest and play. So there is kind of a yonic symbolism there which expresses a nurturing type sexuality to me. It's kind of both playful and safe symbol to me.

The colors of the opal are a huge inspiration to my art recently. The colors are pastels and some scattered neon sort of covered a cloudy blue or grey. I think the grey color to an opal sets off the other colors perfectly. It's not too loud or colorful but rather a perfect balance of both the mundane muted grays against the stronger brighter colors. Again this could be another allegory for life. When there is a balance and contrast between the colors.

In the end I really just thought it sounded pretty. Lol.

Just after I turned 18, I responded to a Craigslist call for camgirls. Met up with a recruiter at a coffee shop with no idea what I was doing. I needed to write down a stage name and out it came. It means Living Sunshine! I want to make people feel the same way sunshine makes me feel. It's also a handful of Grateful Dead references of course. :roll: :lol: Eva as in "Evangeline" by Jerry Garcia Band (pretty much described my life at the time), and Sunshine as in sunshine daydream from "Sugar Magnolia" by Grateful Dead. Thankfully in a weird turn of events, I never actually ended up camming through the recruiter or finishing the sign up process because my life went topsy turvy shortly after that. I stuck with the name when I was able to start camming on my own a year and a half later though.

I blame my parents on mine. was my name from birth and then nature took over and I grew up (5'-10") ...and up(6'-3")...and up (6'-8")... since late high school have always been called one version or another so have used them all online at one forum or another. I have been BigDog68, DingoGrande, GreatDane, GreatDaneUJ, see the pattern running there?

Parents loved having to replace clothes every season (Where is that sarcasm font at?)

well I have had this in some form for about 14 years now. started on yahoo chat. if you run across it mostly is me or a 25+ girl from upstate Penn or a 21 + girl from Florida... there really is only about 3 or 4 of us.

I write for a few different websites. When I first started writing they said I needed a relaxing pen name that flows. After driving home from work listening to sappy music on the radio I decided to go with the stations hosts name, Delilah. The name just stuck and got carried to camming.

SpeedsterDud: Speedster because I've worked in Motorsports for he last 12 years, and Dud was supposed to be Dude, but Dude was one letter too long for MFC. Dud made me laugh in a self deprecating sort of way, so I went with it! :dance:

(Goalpost Head being a somewhat insulting nickname for Arnold J. Rimmer, the holographically revived version of Dave Lister's deceased bunkmate.)

I'm a big fan of Bad Dragon and knotted toys, and also rope harnesses. It also happens that Knotty by Nature is the name of a garrison mission in World of Warcraft, and I giggled every time I saw it, and then decided that was perfect.
