Hello!

I'm a complete and total newbie! I just started camming a week ago, and people started to ask me to set a wish list in Amazon. I see a lot of girls and guys with one, and I go in and they don't have the real name anywhere on the profile. BUT I CAN'T MANAGE TO HIDE IT!

I feel pretty stupid since it seems I'm the only one who can't manage to set it up.
Thanks for any help!!!

First of all, you need to get verified as a model, so you can access the Models Only section.
https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1696

Secondly, I think most models are in agreement that Amazon wishlists are extremely dangerous and sketchy, as they always have potential to show your real name and city/state.

However, if you are determined to make a wishlist, get verified, then read the numerous threads on wishlists in MO section.

There are some public threads about Amazon wishlists. One thing to be wary of is listing items from third-party shippers. And only list items that would really be worth more to you than the 5¢ a token you would get if a member were to simply tip you. Presents are nice, but they're a lot less nice if they only take up room and give rise to exaggerated expectations from members. And they obviously do nothing for your camscore.

Also a lot of members who talk about buying stuff off your wishlist are just blowing smoke.

Yes! And they can mark it as purchased without actually purchasing. A lot of girls offer shows for their wishlist items, so if you do that, DO NOT do the show until you've received the item.

Also, Amazon doesn't want their lists used for bartering or exchanging services. They will delete your list (possibly account?) if you have notes saying "send me this and get 20 min Skype show!" or things like that.

What worked better for myself was to have a wishlist with no address or name on it, then when someone wants to treat me to something, they can email me an Amazon.ca gift card, and I order it myself. Trying to ensure your privacy on Amazon isn't easy!

Thank you so much girls! I was already doubting it, because it also feels a bit weird do ask for presents from strangers to me (even though it's always nice to get one) But I think I'm going to just pass this one and won't do it.

Thank you so much!

^ this is definitely the best way of ensuring your personal info isn't shown to anyone.

In case you do decide to do this. Or someone searches for this again. You have to make a NEW amazon account. The account needs to belong to your cam name or at least not your real name. Then make a wishlist. Don't try using your real account and just making a wishlist for your cam name. I hope this make sense. :)

I had a scary run in on my account in the last couple months. I had all of my settings to private and anonymize and all of a sudden out of the blue one day I checked my list and it was displaying my full real name, with my city and state. Amazon had made these changes without sending me an e-mail or alerting me in any way. I was so mad I deleted the entire thing since they must have removed the option for me to re-hide everything. I swear I zoomed all around the site and clicked on every.single.link and it just wasn't there anymore. Anyway I had to completely remake a new account, delete my old one, and now I basically just use my wish list as a reference list. I don't have any information in it except my cam name. I tell my members if they want to buy me something off amazon, they have to either tip in tokens in my room and tell me what they want to get me, or send me a gift rocket. So far, it's actually worked quite nicely, because then it helps boost camscore if they tip in your room for it, and you get a nice little gift. ;)

Sorry this is so long but this was seriously one of the scariest things I have had happen to me since I started cam and I just want anybody that uses amazon to be aware. They be pullin' some shiesty shtuffs.

Yeah...but between the shipping costs + cost of PO box per year, unless you are extremely popular and get gifts very often, it just isn't worth it.

To the original poster: You should check out giftrocket.com. It is completely anonymous and if someone wants to buy you a gift, they can send you that to your e-mail account and you can choose how you cash it out! You can spend it anywhere and/or have it wired to your bank account.

A lot of peeps here are using a PO Box in another city to be safe.
I have a P.O. box in another city (and country) and I've registered my model name with my P.O. box service so that I'm able to receive packages under that name. It works amazingly and there was a one time $10 fee for the P.O. box.

Really?! I may have to PM you about that. Mine cost $85 bucks a year and wouldn't let me register under any other name. :-x
