my plans: to produce an online tool that will assist camgirls with their work. from what I could see, your market is under-served (for example, lots of camgirls tweet to announce their coming performance by copying and pasting manually from a notepad document). I would like to automate those activities so you can use your time more efficiently.
I would also like to bring the world of analytics to webcam performers (things that are available in many other markets).
I don't have plans to make these tools open-source in the foreseeable future.

Sounds like you're creating programs that are almost exactly like Tweetdeck and CamYourWay, both of which are widely used/trusted by camgirls already. Many girls automate their tweets and track their stats/earnings via those two programs; some of the video sites also incorporate Google Analytics into their platform.

I don't really see the difference between what you're offering and the tried-and-true methods camgirls already use. It sounds like you're not really up-to-date with how girls manage their traffic/communication/earnings behind the scenes. Maybe do a bit more research or create a poll and find out what camgirls actually need in a program, instead of offering things that are already covered?

Yeah, I see his point, but with tweetdeck, I can pretty easily do all that. I do kinda wish MFC would push notifications on members more though. I noticed after I started mentioning it many didn't even know it existed, and a ton more logged on when I did. Not everyone can pay attention to tweets/newsfeeds all the time, but most do see new emails/texts.

I admit I am still surveying the landscape and there may be tools that I need to get acquainted with: thank you for the pointers!
Tweetdeck it will tweet at a preset schedule whereas I'm thinking of a system that detects when a performer comes online and tweets at that moment automatically.
At the end of my survey I did leave a space for "whatever else you may want to tell me", but I'll ask here again:

what would your ideal tool look like ? go crazy!

And yes, I might be entering a market with an incumbent but a little healthy competition only benefits the users, right?

Something that could auto tweet when i come online and get offline would be helpful. But It would REALLY need to be able to post a picture with it.. for me.
