Re: Hey it's another one of them posts - Cam she really like
Awww, c'mon man! Why would you do that? Why would you come in to a post over a month past the incident and say something like that?! You can see through the span of the thread that Bonjour thought really hard about his decision and made a SMART choice. Regardless of that, actually, the time has certainly gone by at this point, so it's not like you're influencing a decision for this incident.
What you ARE doing though is putting potentially weird, upsetting doubt into someone's mind after they've already made a difficult decision through no small amount of pain and suffering on their end. Isn't that kind of cruel? Unnecessary? That last line is kind of down-right mean.
Plus it's not like the points about Bucharest being a neat destination that's cheap weren't already broached many times, but he made the choice not to go because it would be too upsetting. I'd also argue that seeing her for even an instant would be PLENTY of time for her to "work him". I think most of us wanted this to work out, but not at the cost of Bonjour's happiness and safety. I'm glad that at the point things got weird he made the decision he did. I think it's a bit uncool to try to make someone feel bad about a big decision they've already made.
Looney said:Bonjour said:It’s the guilt trip that causes me the most pain, directly asking for money would be easier in a strange way. It’s the “OMG, I have to pack my bags, what am I going to do? I am going to have to sleep in the park” that is the killer. I can’t go there, to this girl that I have fallen for and visit her in the park, that’s crazy! I would end up giving her money for rent just because I couldn’t see her like that, then she ends up with her rent paid without even having to ask for any money and I end up feeling like a sucker.
I have blocked her on WhatsApp because I just can’t deal with the guilt; it almost feels like it is my fault that she is in the situation she is in. I know I don’t owe her anything but I could have helped and I chose not to. Probably the right decision overall but I can’t help but feel really shitty about it.
Thank you all, I think I am going to stick with trying to find an English girl away from the internet. Wow, how old fashioned!
Sorry to be late to join this thread matey, it's obviously your decision, but my suggestion (I refrain from using the word 'advice') would have been to go, but for a shorter time - flights are peanuts from Luton/Stansted on Wizzair/Ryanair, and a couple of nights in a reasonable hotel isn't going to break the bank, even at late notice, you'll get a 1 bedroom studio for eur 40 per night.
I'd guess that you'd know a lot more, and be much more comfortable with your decision (either way) with a face-to-face, and the short duration wouldn't give her the time to 'work you', if that was her aim.
Further, from my (limited) experience, Bucharest is nice enough, streets are clean, no 'Hostel' type gangs waiting to whisk you off, no muggers on the streets, most people speak a decent level of English, food/drink is pretty cheap.
From my (again admittedly limited) experience, the girls that are scamming won't give you their real name & address, and won't actually meet - something unexpected 'comes up' at the last moment.
I bet even now, you're thinking "what if?"...
