help using Imgur to post images to MFC and Twitter....

I don't have access to the Models Only section yet, so wasn't sure if this has been covered somewhere already, but I did a search on here, and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for help with...

so, I have just set up an account on Imgur, and would really appreciate any advice on how to use this site to post images to MFC and Twitter.
I read somewhere on here that you should do this to remove metadata before you post images, but I couldn't find any instructions.

there's plenty of sites that remove metadata. I don't know any other way to do it. And why do you wanna use imgur? Why not just post directly to twitter? And mfc allows you to host images on their site. So why wouldn't you just do that? It seems like you're adding a step you don't need. Also metadata only NEEDS to be removed if you have things set to attach your location to an image. Otherwise it's unnecessary.

I have been posting directly to MFC and Twitter, until I read a post on here advising to post via somewhere that removes metadata... (tbh I didn't even know what metadata was!) so I started looking into it.
If it's not necessary that's great!

metadata is data stored in the image itself. Such as the settings on the camera for when that photo was taken and then some people have gps tags on their photos as well. that's the metadata you need to worry about specifically. But as long as you have those settings turned off you're fine. I just never use location services on my phone at all unless i am using my gps.
But some cameras nowadays will gps tag images as well. So it's always a good thing to make sure your camera either doesn't do that or that the settings are turned off.

I've been taking the photos with my iPhone, then emailing them to my non-camming gmail account and downloading them onto my laptop, and into a shared folder so I can access the images through my camming login. do you know how to check the settings for metadata?

I meant turn the "location tag" setting off
meta data cant be turned off. but you can check it using various sites on the internet if you just use google you can find one pretty quick.
You should get verified and join us in Models Only. There's lots of threads that are very helpful in there.

Yes MetaTags like location are stored in the photo itself. It does not matter where that's hosted.

A couple suggestions...

In your iPhone settings.. Go to Privacy -- Location Services and then "Camera".. Set to "Never" for "Allow Location Access".

This should prevent the camera itself from putting GPS information on the photos. That's probably the only exif information you really care about. I'm 99% certain apple does not include a serial number or anything else concerning in the meta data. That would be a concern if you had a camera adding a serial number to the metaData.

If you want to check you can get apps like "ViewExif" and that will show you everything from the phone. There are also apps to clear all metadata but I've only looked for those on a Mac. But again as long as Location is turned off I'd think you'd be good to go.

As for Imgur - they don't allow you to host there and use on MFC. period. So you are better off creating a gallery and putting your photos there for hosting. You can get the raw URL easily. That's how I do it with the models I help with profiles.

I never use Imgur as I also believe it is simply easier to host images on MFC. However, I have found Imgur does work on MFC profiles. If Imgur gives you a URL for the pic that starts with "https://", simply remove the 's' from the URL and the pic will now appear.

The following Imgur example works as I have placed this example HTML code in my own profile and I am able to see the pic on the profile:
