Goodbye to the Daily Show

Only two weeks until Jon Stewart's last night on the Daily Show. Good for him, sucks for the rest of us. I'm very sad to see him go.

America will lose a little of its collective common sense when he leaves...and we don't have any to spare.

Don't plan to watch the Daily Show once he's gone. Trevor Noah seems kind of boring. Jessica Williams would have been awesome as the new host.

Oh well, at least there's Last Week Tonite with John Oliver. I would have his babies.

The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore isn't bad. Not going to replace the Daily Show, but still.

The daily show continues on, just not with Jon Stewart. Trevor Noah takes over on Sept 28th and I'm looking forward to it.

Having watched Jon Stewart from the start and almost the entire run, I was thrilled when Jon announced his retirement from the show. It'll be refreshing to start over and maybe get back to the original magic the show had. It simply became a victim of it's own success and the paradox of the show; fake news treated as real and the obvious political attacks along with repetitious comedy bits. I hope they get rid of the interview segment but that's unlikely.

Great fun though and I'm looking forward to whatever Jon gets involved with after taking a break.

Although Late Night With Seth Meyers and The Nightly Show are holding me over.
