Going the other way with identity protection

A curious thought struck me as I perused the Interwebs today:

A lot of cam models spend a lot of time covering up all real info and presenting Approved Camgirl Info instead. The most common reason for this (I assume) is that they don't want creepers to get personal info on them and perhaps blackmail them or spread unwanted info to friends and family.

I am curious if any models have tried just being completely transparent with their lives, and how that worked out for them? In all honesty, if it wasn't for my parents I don't quite care who knows what I do, because everyone but my parents do know.

(Not suggesting that this is a good or desirable state, btw. Just a thought).

SparkleLulu has a 24/7 webcam going on. I haven't seen it, but I'd imagine if she is running the cam 24 hours a day most of her personal information is fairly out in the open.

This kind of thing was pioneered back in the 90s by Jennifer Ringley with JenniCam. She lived on webcam for about 7 years.

There's still the issue of making it easy for wacko pervs to find you and possibly think paying you a visit would be a good idea. Now would it being "too" easy possibly dissuade some? Take away the "thrill" of finding out some "forbidden" information? It's a nice idea and maybe that is a factor for some of the scariest possible unexpected visitors. As a sexual object, there will be plenty of creepsters who wouldn't be dissuaded so if a cam girl was going to go this route, I would highly recommend having some security precautions/plans.

i know of at least one camgirl who uses her legal name to cam, and a few who make it obvious on their city/scene, or even an address (not a PO box, perhaps not their home though, don't know.) i've often wondered if it makes it totally less of a thrill for people to stalk them when it's so easy.

i'm guessing all those ladies have a coupla guns under their bed, i know i would.

i'd love to hear from them if they read, i'm sure they know who they are =P
