My best experience with a photographer was someone I met on craigslist, of all places, he wanted to do some fantasy style PG-13 shoots and had a very specific idea. We met in a Starbucks and it was pretty clear immediately that he was a family guy who's intent was just to hire a model so he can work on his hobby of making horror related stories in short photo shoots. I was paid for my time, travel, and given a copy of all the edited photo's after months of planning. Every other photographer I've tried to meet with has been a perv trying to be smooth about paying for sex by calling it 'photo shoot for private collection' or something equally creepy, another typical issue is photographers not wanting you to bring anyone along with you to the shoot.
Personally I've been taking photo's since I took a class at a community college while still in high school. Photo shoots are a mix of joy and total nightmares for me, behind or infront of the camera. I enjoy editing and setting up the concept of the shoot most of all. 1st I get to plan the 'story'. As a photographer I'm focused on relaying how the models look while shooting, often pausing to show them a few shots so they can see my point of view, this can sometimes frustrate me as concepts are sometimes hard to bring to life. Finally I am back to enjoying myself with the editing, this is where I get to see all the effort finally come to life, cropping and taking out anything distracting gives me a lot of satisfaction.
And dats me feelings on photography!
