From SkyPrivate to Private Connections: Our Response to the Skype Closure Announcement

Skype transitions to Teams app Teams -- as many of you may have heard -- by May 5, 2025.

This means that Skype, an app that has been a cornerstone of online communication for over two decades, will soon be phased out.

At SkyPrivate, we have always believed in the power of personal connections. In an increasingly digital world, people often feel more alone than ever. That’s why our mission has always been to build Personal-Connection adult communities—spaces where you can engage in real, personal, intimate, and erotic interactions using platforms that feel natural, like Skype and Discord.

This announcement from Microsoft only reinforces our commitment to adapting and evolving. We were already working on alternatives, and now we’re moving even faster to bring them to you.

Our Plan Moving Forward​

We are actively working on multiple solutions to ensure you can continue enjoying seamless, premium, and private communication experiences on SkyPrivate:

1. Teams2Teams Private Calls​

We have already begun researching how to adapt our SkyPrivate plugin to work with Microsoft Teams Free. If you prefer to continue using Microsoft’s ecosystem, we are working on a solution that will allow you to make premium, paid Teams-to-Teams calls—just like you did on Skype.

2. Expanding Discord2Discord Calls​

Many of our users are already enjoying Discord-to-Discord 1-on-1 private paid calls on SkyPrivate. We will be rolling out new communication campaigns to ensure all our users know about this feature.

3. Telegram2Telegram Private Calls – Coming Soon​

We are accelerating our 2025 roadmap to introduce Telegram-to-Telegram 1-on-1 private paid calls as soon as possible. This was already in development, but with the upcoming changes to Skype, we are prioritizing its release.

4. Exploring Browser-Based Live Streaming​

While our focus remains on premium 1-on-1 private calls, we are also exploring the possibility of live-streaming directly in the browser, similar to other cam sites. However, we believe that deep, personal connections are best experienced through intimate, private interactions. Still, we are open to hearing your feedback on this potential feature.

I will not use Teams. It is unsafe for adult. More so even than Skype.
Telegram requires a phone number even if you're using it on desktop.
Live streaming misses the point of an indie site completely.

Telegram does require a phone number but you can choose who you share it with pretty easily. I just selected to share it with "Nobody". It's not ideal but a lot of Models use it including myself. Idk how good it is for video calls though.
Discord 1st, Telegram 2nd seems like the best idea by far as Pookie says. Advertising Teams as the main choice doesn't seem like a good idea
