I propose the idea of a forum Feedback thread.
There is this fantasy I have, where the exclusive subs have a forum feedback that are Conducted well enough that they are nearly never disrailed and well enough that it remains listenable.
Well, I said it was a fantasy.
I would like this thread to be a feedback on the idea of feedback. How you might envision such a thread working, or if you don't see any point, and why.
I don't think it has to have any hard wired influence. That is, I do not suggest anything like, "A dynamic and democratic community, where the community members themselves define, and redefined the fluid environment of this very special on line crossroads." But more like a suggestion box.
I rarely ,(like only twice) have any ideas about forum issues but there is no place to address them when they do arise. I could PM Amber, but there are many reasons that is a bad idea IMO. On the other hand, if there was a thread where ideas occasionally got suggested and then if it seemed there was enough interest such ideas could be put up as polls. If the overwhelming majority of members thought it was a good idea.... Well, then I don't know what, I am not going to assume anything.
Let me describe what I mean by Forum Feedback. Or what I don't mean. I am thinking that it would be very strictly structured to included only the physical make up of the space, and how things behave within it. (I will give an example). I also see it working only as a sticky,- like I said only twice, and it works well, so anything other than a sticky would fall off and die. But I do think, there might be some fine tuning ideas out there?
What it would not be is a forum members feedback, where someone bitches because so and so keeps.....
Example: I realized just recently, that PM's in my out box would change to sent status triggered merely by the recipient accessing his/her mail page. I had made the wrong assumption that when it showed as sent, that it had been opened.
I have brought this up to a couple of long time ACF members who were under the same impression. So my idea would be to bring this up, and suggest it be modified or that some notification of how it does work be added. Ppl could then comment, and it would be clear I think if it should be put to a poll or not.
Any ideas, comments?
