I thought twitch was for gamers.

That's what it started off as, but there no reason it can't be more. That's like saying TV started off broadcasting sports games, so they shouldn't add tv shows about the news.

I am a gamer I guess, even if my first reaction is to take offense at being labeled one. Ain't no slouch either. Dude is gatekeeping like I didn't just pop an achievement for throwing a perfect game in Super Mega Baseball 2 with only minor cheesing involved. Like I ain't got Devil May Cry 4 1000/1000'd. I get the feeling that he wasn't really being genuine about my bouffant looking nice too. His avatar invokes thoughts of NASA so all is forgiven.

This was my Twitch stream outfit and activity... city tour in jeans and a tee. It was for all audiences and I didnt even wear cleavage just to make sure I wasn't stepping over any guidelines. I still got abused.

It looks like you're streaming in the IRL category which tends to be rife with trolls. Coupled that with what Lelo1 mentioned in regards to women's treatment, unfortunately it's quite common.

Case is I found camsites much more friendly, warm, welcoming, and respectful than I found Twitch, which is surprising. The ratio of cool people to trolls is really skewed towards trolls.

The gaming landscape is overwrought with toxicity beyond control which spreads into Twitch. Both game developers and Twitch struggle with the insane amount of toxic behavior

On top of that, i think it helps how most models mute basics/guests/greys, leaving paid customers to chat with, creating that barrier from some asshole looking to bait. Most hard nose trolls aren't willing to fork out cash just to sadistically troll someone

I would disagree. I know a few recent partnered streamers that break 1k a night in less than a year.

I think you're both right, but that example of growth to 1k is pretty rare. It's tough for many just breaking the 100 viewership line, or even 50 viewers, from the ground up. I'm in a couple of Discords where its members share their streaming experiences, vast majority of which seem to have slow to mild-at-best growth. And then there's streamers who rarely see a viewer at all
