MFC indeed seems a little strange sometimes. $20 an hour on SM is a great start. They cap your paid chat limits and those will be raised after a few weeks and do NOT be afraid to raise your rates. I've been on the site for 2 years and I am currently at $6.99 pvt/$8.99 excl and I am no where near the amount I could charge or other models charge who are in the same placement that I am. It's a great site for fetish too, so if that's something you offer make sure to play that up and ONLY do it in excl.
Also, make sure to differentiate your premium and excl chat. Most models have it as "I do what I want in premium, I do what you want in excl" personally I do vanilla in premium and fetish in excl.

I think it really is just about finding your niche, putting in hours and having the right people find you. I don't do any games, gimmicks or raffles and do quite well on MFC. I also had the right people find me and put in 8-10 hours a day early on. I think MFC is the least porn-y of all the sites...it's a social site...so treating it as a "porn site" isn't going to really work. That's why some girls do amazing on SM and "fail" on MFC.

That said...I asked the question before about raising rates on SM...and from what I gather most raise them if they are in paid chat over 50% at their current rate. I'm glad you are doing so well there!

Meh, 50% is a bit high to be honest. It's a great go-to number but if you do gold shows almost at all it'll knock your time in paid chat down (even if your making goal) because of countdowns. I know models who pull huge numbers and their paid time online hovers around 28% paid chat.
I'd say raising your rates is more a "feeling" than anything. Feel like you're spending all your time pounding your holes? Raise your rates. Feel like you get to the end of the night exhausted and wonder why that's not reflected in your paycheck? Raise 'em. Are your regs rude, demanding and pushy? Dear GOD raise your rates. The less you charge the more demanding they are.

@DanniSynn - I agree that to make mfc really work you've probably got to be offering more (or just something other than) straight porn. It's not how I use the site, anyway.

If I just wanted to see porn I can do so for free with a few mouseclicks, or as you say I could splash out the 50 tokens to see some Romanian girl doing stuff live. It may be too late now but MFC is NOT the best site to get your 'feet wet' on because its make or break in regards to camscore. You can find yourself in a downward spiral very easily based on one bad shift (even I have had 60tk shifts..)

I'd really suggest that you start out out on another site to begin with.

The camscore thing is a big issue on MFC, because it is the visibility models get. Sure, there are options on the member side to show "only new models" and such, but they're not used by most, very often, I would think. Now, I don't know if it's the new default, but MFC has moved from pages, to just a large scrolling page on my end. But even with there no longer being pages on my end, it still only shows friends, then top CS models on the screen unless I scroll.

And, when there's a lot of models with say 6k+ CS online at once, members would be scrolling down pretty far to find those listed as "New Model", in many cases (without using the show only new models feature).

Plus, new models tend to fall into the downward spiral Lollipop mentioned pretty fast, if they're not careful. A model I know helped out a new model a while back, saw the new model's CS drop from 1k to under 800 on the first day, simply because she tried to stay online for as many hours as possible, while not making the tokens to help. Once that trend starts, it becomes increasingly difficult to get the CS back up, especially as a new model with no previous 60 day average to work with.

The new model tag can help, sometimes. But, unless the members are actively looking for new models, it doesn't help as much as some might think. Most members who have been around for a year or more have favorites, and they don't often go looking for other models all the time.
