Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here so I hope this (somewhat shameless promo) Discussion post gets approved.

I’m a big data nerd, and I recently made a platform that helps people with finding more subreddits to promote on [link removed by Admin] I have skills with the Reddit API that seem almost magical, and I do a lot of other neat things too.

Because I am VERY aware of all the leeches on this community, scam agents, scammy men, etc, I just want to append my intro with a statement that I am genuinely interested in helping out content creators, and I want to give out far more value than I would ever get in return. I get a good feeling when mutual support is the main goal. I have experienced a fair amount of hostility and blocking from advice forums because I'm not a "behind the camera" creator, and I think that can be valid and expected, but it also impairs my ability to help people too, so I hope that I can do better here. You can feel free to check me out, and judge for yourself.

I go by u/attentionbender on Reddit (where I've amassed a fairly decent following), and @attentionbender on Twitter.

Also, this is not JUST a shameless promo post. I also want to get to know people and collaborate, and use my nerdy API skills and data analysis help you figure out how to do things better. Feel free to reply, DM, engage. If I'm not sleeping or life-ing I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP.

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance! :)

im gonna be blunt. so you want us to pay you for a list of reddit selling subs either listed in order by subs and karma?

I can understand why you have had a negative experience on other forums.

Don't fall for it girls there's a free list that's out there already and it has not only names of where to promote but its in categories of boobs, ass, trans, male, female, couples, onlyfans, etc etc. And tells you if verification is needed or not, are sellers allowed, what you can or can't post there and more! all you do is click on the name and it takes you to the page! Most subs DO NOT disclose how much karma you need to post ( if karma is a rule), but if you're active on reddit, usually you have enough.

DO NOT PAY THIS GUY!

OP, you wanna help? TIP US. BUY OUR CONTENT. PAY US. it doesn't work the other way around, especially not with silly things like this trying to get money for something that already exists and is FREE.

YUP! not having enough karma to post is no big deal because it can easily be gained.

models new to reddit: you can easily get karma by posting in industry-related subs or literally anywhere else. i have throwaway accounts i abandon after i forget the logins. the newest one i just created a few months ago is already over 500 karma by just commenting on posts in a few hobby/gaming subs every so often. it probably would be higher if i was more active. imo posts of cute animals are the easiest way to farm karma.

That's kind of a condescending start to a post...

the problem with trying to make solutions for an industry you don't have experience in is that you don't know what issues are you are trying to solve.

so without knowing what the problems are how do you see yourself as someone who is in a position to offer help?

My lists and data are far more comprehensive and up-to-date than the other ones, and I give an awesome list away for nothing. Also, I can help YOU with YOUR efforts. I don't compete with advice givers, I enhance them. I add even more value for people who add value.

I think that assumes a lot. I've been working on this for a while and I have a lot of contacts in the industry that I've worked with directly. I've listened to their problems for quite a few hours and tailored data solutions that specifically helps with peoples pain points.

Okay, it's clear that I got pretty roasted in this thread, and a lot of presumptions made too. I think it's clear that I'm going to have to bring even more value to the table, and work on my PR a lot :)

I think interactions like this are very valuable for me because they teach me a lot about peoples perceptions.

One of the things I would like to do is find a real SWer to work with on sharing this. My lack of credibility as a non-SWer basically trashes all my attempts at helping the community, and I think that's a shame, because my work really is valuable for a lot of people.

Next up, is I need to quadruple the amount of free things I give away. Instant value should be instant, and speak for itself without even having to ask for it, and leave you wanting more.

People are very interested in categories, and that's something I don't do well yet with. Although it's pretty easy to do ctrl+f or use my search engine to find keywords for promo-friendly subreddits, I think I can do better. I have a way of crawling secondary subreddit relationships in any specific category, and make some lists that are way beyond what anyone else has done so far.

Hostility aside, perhaps I can use this thread to fail-forward. I genuinely want to bring a lot of value to the community.

Only a little bit of a difference? Doesn't sound like your list is worth the extra money then 😌
I’m trying to be humble. There’s a pretty substantial difference. Like YEARS of outdated data fixed and a whole comprehensive list of everything. My whole 3.6+ million subreddit dataset is available with current up-to-date data. So yeah, a little bit of difference 😂

Why are you so intent on helping sex workers in particular?

I'm a person on the autism spectrum that has weird special interests, and I take joy in diving into them. This aligns with a lot of them. Data mining and data analysis. API hacking, information gathering, and novelty. I think it's neat that people are making money in the content creator space, sex workers especially, and that they have the ability to take matters into their own hands and do exactly what they want to do vs going to a 3rd party. There is so much room for creativity and applying technical ideas too.

I rarely get referrals, but for the ones that I have, I really enjoy seeing my wallet light up and knowing that they are making 20x what I got. Viewing their success and them sharing it with me is like a little dopamine hit for me each day. I have male OF referrals as well as female, and I've chatted with a lot of male partners that also help their female partners with promotion. I love helping everyone that has a good chance at success. Someone sent me an unsolicited cashapp of $10 earlier because of what I did for them, and it just really made my day. Those type of interactions are awesome.

I want to put all the data I have gathered to good use since I'm collecting it anyway, and it's just really fun to see what happens when people apply it. This is a really fun way to do that. And I make a little bit too in support, further motivating me to do it even better.

The thing is, there’s always been non-industry people who want to make a profit off those within the adult industry while still remaining on the outskirts of it. A lot of the products or services we’ve seen offered have little to no value for us, and more often than not are blatant cash grabs. The number of these sorts of people have increased since OnlyFans has gotten so mainstream.

So, someone peddling their wares, especially when they haven’t really taken the time to really become a part of the industry/community, will get side eyed.

There’s a lot of different lists comprised of NSFW subreddits that allow advertising as it is. And tbh, Reddit is becoming less and less adult worker friendly because of the increase in spam from some creator accounts. Not to mention, while Reddit advertising can definitely lead to more traffic, you’re also dealing with a loooooot more time wasters/ freeloaders when you do take that advertising route, since Reddit is full of people who don’t want to pay for their porn or outright dislike content creators. So, it doesn’t really make sense to spend money on something that is already available and something that may not lead to more sales.

Many many words. But you didn't answer the question at all. You could apply every skill you listed to any other thing that exists.

I like that you admit that sex workers are able to take matters into our own hands. You're correct. That's why you're not getting the response that you want. You're simply unnecessary. We can also do all of the things you listed. @KingMarti, for instance, is a member of this forum who dabbles in some of the stuff you've mentioned. He's part of our community, rather than some rando who wants to ingratiate themselves with us for reasons that are unclear at best (usually: greater access to free nudes). In general, most of us will not prefer to work with someone like you.

I don't need no help from a guy who has NO clue how it is behind the scenes and has NO experience whatsoever with SW apart from wanking off to the idea of "helping helpless models"..... so.. bye

tell us you have a savior complex without telling us you have a savior complex.

also lol you are on reddit complaining how you aren't allowed in SWer spaces to give advice because you aren't a SWer. this comes across as someone who doesn't respect our spaces. let alone bitter that models give out referral links to other models but they don't like that you do it. 🙄

I'd highly recommend making yourself a bit more valuable before you try to sell shit. You have 24 followers on Twitter. Not a lot of karma on Reddit either since we can't see followers on there. Most dudes who PM me wanting SPH or panties have more followers.

Why on earth would I want a list of 10k subreddits? How is that valuable? That just sounds like way more work and confusion on top of paying for something unnecessary.

Thank you all for showing me how the general opinion is towards me, I appreciate the hard truth of it all, and although I'm none of those things you are assuming about me, I guess it doesn't really matter.

I do know that my data has value, because it's quite clear from my resource use stats that a lot of people are heavily using and benefitting from it. However, it's becoming obvious from my interactions with the community in general, that I personally do not have value to you as a non-creator, and that creators are not accepting of non-creators in creator communities. Although it's hard on the feelings a little, at this time, I'm going to attempt to take a step back from participating in the SW community and hand off any direct interactions with other SWers to a female partner that is actually active behind the camera.

That said, I'm a data person now, not a PR person anymore. Applications are now open for additional (non-gender specific) help, and if you would consider helping me share my data with the community in ways that would be mutually beneficial to you and the community, I'll offer to both pay you, and give you access to all my best data resources that I've spend hundreds of hours programming custom mining scripts for, totally free.

there have been plenty of non-swers creating resources/tools/platforms that we use. the difference between you and theirs is theirs were needed and have value.

again what you are offering doesn't have much value and need for the price you want. what you are offering can easily be obtained by personal research or using one of the already freely available lists. it's when non-swers come into our space trying to peddle their wares that aren't necessary and then proceed to argue that they know better. it's fucking bananas.

Good on you for realizing that a person in your position would be better accepted if they were, in fact, able to utilize the services offered to test them out personally.

Some of those other free lists may have actually been derived from my data. Also, I already have paying subscribers and many more people showing gratitude for the value that I bring to them, who are also aware of the other options. But if it doesn’t have value to you, I totally understand. I won’t argue with your opinion, and No worries. Those who find it valuable will find it valuable. I’m continuously improving on it the more support I get. So hopefully in time, even those with high expectations will love it.

if people find value in it, good for them.

i recommend when first pitching dont tell us how other people in other SWers have not welcomed you in their spaces because you are an outsider. same with posting about it on your reddit. you dont want to be trash-talking your target audience on the platform you are trying to sell yourself as an expert in. it doesn't create trust or show you are interested in listening to our needs. someone acting like they know better when they are an outsider is quite pompous.

good luck my dude. i love being proved wrong and truly wish you the best. :h:

Thank you, and this thread has very much helped me switch directions.. Personally, I won't be pitching anymore. For authentic SWers who can help me do this legitimately, I'll be paying.
