If you have spent more money than you can afford, you should step back now, whether anyone else has done it or not. And it's easy to get carried away. There is a reason MFC puts some (low) hurdles in the way of new members who might spend more than they originally intended to, or can afford.

You aren't the only one. But it's rather a limited and un-useful question isn't it? "Am I the only one in tens of thousands of people who've spent more than they could afford". Its not actually giving any insight to anyone.

The real question should be why the people spend more than they can afford. What was the motivation to spend so much?

I need to keep a close eye on my expenses on MFC.
It is very easy to get out the credit card for a quick private or some tokens for tips but it really adds up over time.

Because I consider myself an adult and nobody points a gun ar my head when I type in the CC details, I just accept the expense and if I really run into problems I would leave MFC altogether...
But at the moment I try to support only 1-2 models and they know I am not rich, so they are OK that I don't tip for certain periods...

MFC can be addictive no question, and you can burn through serious money quite easily..

It's easy to tip more than you can really afford. I've never been in way over my head or anything but there's been numerous times where it's gotten to the end of the month, two or three days before payday and I have a few pence to my name and I think "if I'd have spent less time on MFC this month, I could afford to go out tonight". But then I think back to all the other stuff I've bought throughout the month, and really, I can't blame MFC for my lack of moneys
Plus, on balance, if it's a choice between one more night out at the end of the month or a bunch of time spent in the company of lovely naked ladies, I'm probably happier with the time spent in the company of lovely naked ladies (something I haven't been able to do this month as a result of having no monies ).

All of this rambling nonsense is to say, don't spend money you can't afford and don't be afraid to tell a model that you can't visit her for a little while cos you can't afford it. If she's not a complete poopoo-head, she'll understand. As much as models depend on a customer's tips, I honestly don't think there are many that would want you to continue tipping them when you can't afford to. And the ones that do probably aren't worth the money in the first place. Like others have said, if you're spending money you can't afford, it's definitely time to step away from the keyboard :thumbleft:

Yes, I have bought tokens when I should not have done so due to my financial issues. When I couldnt buy more tokens, I didnt SAY that to anyone, I just stopped my perving until I could afford to do so again.

-if a member has a black or dark blue name, it's probably male, and is not a verified model. This means that the person you are addressing is a fellow from the member side of things.

-if a member has a purple name, it's definitely female, and is a verified model. This means she definitely has a model account on a reputable camsite. Many models also have member accounts, so they might actually be speaking from the member side of things.

-if a member has a light blue name, and the name is AmberCutie, it's the creator of this forum, so treat with respect unless you want to be banned. She is a model on MFC.

-if a member has a light blue name, and the name is Jawbs, it's the co-creator of this forum, a male.

I have a member account that I don't use very often. To keep myself from overspending, I have a very simple habit. I view the cams in my bedroom. The credit cards are in my purse by the front door. I buy tokens, then replace the credit card, before I ever view the cams. If I want to keep myself from spending the tokens all at once, I use the bank option. Thus, if I want to spend on a whim, I have to leave the bedroom, get to the front door, unzip the purse, pull out the wallet, wrestle with the card, walk back to the bedroom, before I can ever enter the details.

I happen to be lazy, and also find it hard to spend on things I don't really need. Thus, by the time I get the purse out from under the shoes, I've usually had my second thoughts.


Speaking as a model: I don't want you to put yourself in debt for me. My members don't understand this. I make them think it's purely practical (if you go in debt, you won't be able to give me as much money later! I'd rather you give me a little bit over a long period of time, than a giant amount now and never again!), but the truth is, I really honestly care. I can't stand the thought of other people in trouble. Even if they were never going to tip me again after that day whether they went in debt or not, I'd still rather they not go into debt for me.

Yes I am sure it happens. As far as I know it hasn't been an issue for anyone who's tipped me and I'm glad for it.
There's a difference though spending a bit more than you can afford. Everyone does that, not just on camgirls, but on everything. I spend more than I can afford on going for a meal with my friend. Or lending/giving a close friend money when they're in real need. Sometimes I want to buy something that really I can't afford.
What is not normal is putting yourself in serious debt for mfc, and I'm talking thousands of pounds that you have no way to pay off. Enough to ruin your life. That isn't normal and is very serious. If you've ever done that then you actually have a problem and need to seek help as there's a reason for you doing this other than generosity.

Camgirls are supposed to be fun luxuries. Tipping is amazing, I love doing it. I like tipping more than I like receiving tips I think. But I know that right now I cannot afford to tip my friends what I want to tip them. So I don't. Right now I'd also like to buy a load of clothes and go on a night out drinking. But I can't afford it. So I don't. I know plenty of people who do this though.

It happens to everyone, I'm sure. Something comes up and you decide you REALLY want to private with a model or join a group or get to a token goal for something you want.

When it happens to me, it normally means I will just be low in my bank account until I get paid next. I only use my debit card, not a credit card, so I know exactly how much I have in my account each time I buy tokens. And I know that no matter how much I want to private/group/tip I will never let myself overdraw my account to get tokens. Ever.

If it means I only have 900 tokens for 2 weeks, so be it. If it means I only have 200 tokens for 2 weeks, so be it.

But, I never have to tell anyone why I have no money. I have no family that I take care of or anything, so my money is my money. If friends want to go out, and I've had a lot of expenses, and I say I am broke, they pretty much assume I either didn't make a lot or that I just paid my bills and shit.

Like this pay period, my bank did some odd shit, said I had more money in my account than apparently I did, but nothing was showing pending and such. After we all went out for my friend's b-day 2 weeks ago, I ended up -$92 and change. So when I got paid last week, I automagically lost that much. I spent a little on MFC, paid some bills, but also spent $400 on new tires to replace the 3 bald ones I had. So for the past week I have had a whopping $10 and change left in my account. And I don't get paid again until next Friday. And my windshield just developed a crack, today, too. Joy.

So, I simply know I cannot buy tokens. It's not that hard to have the knowledge I can't buy tokens and live with it. But, I also just got done day 13 in a row of work, out of at least 19 in a row (it might end up being like 40+ in a row ). So I don't have a lot of time to be on MFC right now. And I definitely have no time to be spending any money I don't have there.

If one lacks the self control to control one's spending on a cam site when they know they can't afford it, then they should consider getting help. Maxing out your credit cards, overdrawing your bank account, just for some potential fapping isn't smart. Learn to control the spending, and hang out with models that understand that not every member is going to have tokens every single day (it is amazing how many seem to think people just always have tokens all the time...). The models who appreciate members hanging out and tipping when they can are far better than the models who get all upset when someone can't tip them every single day.

If you're having problems controlling your spending and it is hurting you financially, then you need to tell your bank and credit card companies to deny any charges from MFC or any other cam site you belong to. Because, you obviously need help in controlling yourself.
