Hey y'all!

I'm new to the camming biz and have been contemplating signing up with a studio called Filthy Gorgeous Media. They offer a studio to record in which is the only thing that keeps me from recording regularly. I live at home with my mom, who spends a lot of time here. Even when she's at work I can't focus on putting the best show because I'm always worried she'll walk in unexpectedly! I looked into hotels and they're a little pricey. I want to start making money before I get a hotel regularly.

My question is:

1. Have you heard of FGM? Would you recommend them? Would you recommend a studio at all? (Looking through majority of the topics here and I'm getting a "don't trust studios" vibe)

2. Where do you film? Any way around the living at home thing?

Thanks everyone!

Personally I would never ever work for/with a studio. BUT, if that is your only option so that you can have a space to cam in, I'd call it an unavoidable evil. But a few important things to think about first, what percentage is their cut, are you required to work certain hours, what is the space like, is it safe?

Could you link to their site? I found a couple things with that name but they were pretty spammy/filler looking.

Hey Jessi!

Thanks for looking into it! I haven't contacted them yet, only saw the ad on Craigslist. I tried looking up a website or anything under their name - nothing. Looks like I should hold off on camming till I have a place of my own!

Best,
MWP

Those craigslist operations are often kinda sketchy and usually take a high cut. I wouldn't go with that option.
Wait until you move out to start live camming.

Maybe you can start a clipstore to save money for your move!
You can film and edit the clips while your family is out, being interrupted won't be as much of an issue that way. ManyVids, Clips4Sale, or ExtraLunchMoney could be good options. Maybe try PiggyBankGirls too.

If it's Filthy Gorgeous Models you mean, they don't appear to be in business that long. They claim to have 10 studios worldwide :icon-wink: but no website and just a few recent listings on craigslist, backpage and so on. Appear to be tied to Filthy Gorgeous Cams, an LJ white label, so that's where you'll likely have to cam. I predict you make more on your limited opportunities at home than shackled to a studio/LJ ball and chain. :romance-ballandchain:

Hang on, scrap that. Their pitch on craigslist has changed my mind -

Realtors get 1-3% sales commission, Wall Street Brokers 1-5% sales commission.
We offer up to 50% EARNINGS!

LOLOLOL! UP TO 50%???!! What a deal!

I've been camming on CB when I can and I'm doing just fine keeping my 100% cut.

Anyways, thank you all for replying and putting in your thoughts on the matter, means a lot!

Thank you! Didn't know there was another option, would I be able to block states/countries on those sites?

I know ManyVids does, you would have to check with the other sites.
Please keep in mind that determined person can get around a geoblock if they really want to.

If you are going to start making clips, which I think you should, make sure you're using something at least as good as a 720p webcam and learn the basics of lighting! You want to make as much money as you can quickly, so start more-professionally-ish-looking out of the gate for a better start for yourself :thumbleft:

This is owned by nikkidiamond69 on livejasmin. She has several jasmin affiliate sites. So your percent net pay is going to be cut twice – once by jasmin and once by nikki diamond.

As far as I know you are unable to block out certain states or countries on Clips4Sale. But I know for me personally I find it to be worth the risk because with Managing a Restaurant I have the ablilty to film when I have free time & set them to release during my next day shift. Also even if your mom is home you can still edit it your clips & upload them without her thinking your doing anything more then facebooking it up.
