Doing chores on cam when the room is dead: your thoughts?

I've just recently started camming, and the thing I've found most difficult is how to keep myself entertained and not looking bored while waiting for people to join the room who actually want to talk or tip. I find that I'm less nervous/awkward if I have a concrete task to focus on while I wait, so would it be okay to do some chores on cam during these dead times? I was thinking in particular of washing dishes, because I do a cooking-based show which generates a lot of dirty dishes, and it would be great if I could clean up the dishes from the previous day's show while waiting for the current one to gather steam. But I don't want to be rude or make the viewers feel like I'm wasting their time.

can't hurt to try. at least if you have your cam in a good angle and your laptop where you can still read chat and reply to it. At least, based on what I've seen on CB (girls cooking, girls shaving, guys in the kitchen, guys working out, yoga shows, etc.). dunno about other sites.

if you splash some suds on your tits or let some warm water trickle down your thighs now and then I'm sure they'll enjoy it well enough.

As long as you're able to keep up with your chat at the same time, it's no problem. It's something different you don't see often, so that may intrigue people. I had a great shift putting a bed together once.

I recall entering a models room because in the thumb preview she was cleaning her tub or something in her bathroom in a nice little lingerie number that rode up to show her butt.

It got me in her room and it made tipping even more fun because id tip saying I think you missed something to get her to tease showing off her butt. It was a fun time and I think it helped bring the room around.

LOL, well, being a guy, I don't think any of those would be too flattering on me. I do have an anime-style maid outfit, but I'm androgynous enough that I confuse people even when I'm trying to look manly, so wearing something like that would make the problem even worse.

Actually, half-naked cooking show is precisely what I do. I start out in a chef's apron and a pair of bike shorts, then people can tip to see more. So far it hasn't been too successful...maybe a guy doing something like that is too niche.

Would you care to elaborate on the sexy tidy-up show? I'd love to do something like this, but what would I do with the camera and microphone once I needed to move to another room? I can't carry it all at once, and if I disconnect the equipment to move it, I think it would terminate my show.

True, but then when they found out I'm a guy, the fantasy would probably become a nightmare. XD But hey, a guy doing dishes might be a fantasy for someone out there.

So here's a thing i do with ikea furniature (albeit its always been like easier stuff cos putting my bed together took two hrs and 2 ppl)

But for simpler stuff I tell my room they are in a race with me. If they clear the count before I am done putting the item together, i do 'x' special show (put a buttplug in, sit on a cake..whatever)

It's worked REALLY well for small shelving units, my mail cart and my laptop cart that were all ikea type assembly projects.

No, in my opinion, it's not rude or wasting time at all, as long as you're still paying attention to your chat while doing that. You could even do the dishes in a bra and panties. I'm sure someone will even consider it HOT that you're scrubbing dishes back and forth. Lol. I think that sounds more interesting than sitting on the bed looking at the screen, waiting for someone to start talking to you. Those awkward moments where you're waiting for someone to talk to you are the worst...you just wanna have some members in the room who will actually engage in conversation (and tip)...

I remember a time - while on cam - I had been grabbing shirts out of the laundry basket to put on hangers. Lots of bending over and whatnot, and I think I was just wearing a bra and panties. Can't go wrong wearing a bra and panties...

If a member thinks this stuff is "boring" or "wasting their time," then perhaps he should start CHATTING with you (It's called a "chat" for a reason) and tipping you if he wants to see more. It costs nothing for these members to be friendly and actually engage in some conversation.

You do what works for you, and what you enjoy, and don't think that you have to do what everybody else is doing on cam. Some models might be dancing on cam before anyone's even started tipping them yet, and if that's what works for them, cool.

If it looks legit, and it doesn't look like you are miserable doing it...well I have gotten sucked into watching a couple of shows like that.
