The doctor does have a habit of picking women who can save everyone's ass when needed, and she's already demonstrated this ability.

Then how do you explain Amy? Uhg, am I the only one who hates her? She's finally starting to come into her own in my opinion, I actually really liked her on the latest episode, but mostly she hasn't been the most helpful at all and big fucking surprise that she became a bitchy model and had dumped Rory in the premiere. She doesn't deserve him. Or the Doctor for that matter.

I will say she is fucking hot and sooo gorgeous, but by far my least favorite companion ever.

I hope Amy does come into her own.
She has had her moments and they're increasing the further we go in.
She has been really brave through her entire run, but she's been very overshadowed by not only the Doctor, but Rory.
We've been told that the Ponds will leave in a really sad way. Maybe she will sacrifice herself?

In my opinion, Amy is cool because she brought Rory on board. And Rory is so fucking badass.

The Angles kill you with old age, so it may not be that sad of an Ending.

anyone else annoyed with the split series?

3 months til Xmas special and then probably another 3-4 months before the end of "series 7"

/mutter :angry4:

Hey, it's better than 2009. The wait between each of those episodes was awful. Yes, we had a longer wait this time (Christmas 2011 to September 2012... ugh) but at least that meant we got these 5 grouped together.

My assumption is that along with scheduling things to avoid the Olympics, they were also trying to make it so that we can have as much Doctor Who next year as possible (for the 50th anniversary).

Was anyone else kinda meh about the ending last night? I was sad and all, I almost cried. But I just didn't feel like it did the Ponds justice.

They were too popular to kill, and that left only one way to do away with them forever. It was way to predictable, but I do not care anymore. I am just looking forward to the new companion.

I would have been happier if they had been killed. Too many plot holes in this ending. Just meh.

But yes new companion. I don't want to wait until December. But I guess I have no choice.

I miss Rory and Amy already. But assuming Jenna-Louise Coleman's character in the second part of the season is anything like Oswin (or better yet, is Oswin), I'll get over it pretty fast. :)

It will REALLY bother me if she's not Oswin. uhm, Doctor, this girl is the same girl as that Dalek! ack!

I guess he never SAW her but still!

As for the Ponds, the whole episode seemed... off to me. BUT i was super sad and coming from a prior Amy-hater that's saying a lot. I finally starts to like her! And it was so romantic. Gosh, I cried.

I cried my FACE OFF! I really did love the Ponds and it was very difficult for me to let them go. We had a bottle of champagne and I clutched it to my chest and sobbed at the end, haha. Mr. Pond said that I cried as if people we knew in real life had died. I'm such a dork!

It's hard to let go but Doctor Who always challenges us with things like this. We have go face things that we don't like and if you can count on anything in Doctor Who, it's that the Doctor and the Companion WILL change. Hanging on for too long is a problem and I can see that it was time for me to move on and let the show grow (even though I hate that they're gone).

We always remind each other to trust the writers, and I believe that really great things are ahead of us. I can't wait to see it! It's too bad that we have to wait so long, I will feel much better when the new companion is in place because it's hard for me to watch the Doctor's heart break as he flies solo (though it's important to the story).

Also, I would like to add that starting as a cam model has been SO frustrating as far as spoilers for Doctor Who go!It's like every day I log on I'm scared that someone is going to spoil things. They pretty much do every day but often it's something that has already been spoiled. It is a frustrating part of the job that I just did not take into account! It's like...how can you go into the room of someone whose name is a (half) Doctor Who reference and has Doctor Who cosplay on her profile and think it's ok to mess it up and spoil it for her and all of the other Whovians that are likely to be hanging out in her room?! /rage

Spoilers are evil and I'm pretty annoyed that the BBC can't stop spewing them. I'm frustrate with people who are blurting out huge plot elements but it all goes back to the fact that the BBC is just blatantly throwing it out there on purpose. Blah.

Anyway, back to positivity! I am really excited for where this season is going and I'm eager to share the ups and downs with you guys! :-D

I guess the only answer to that is to muster up your best River Song voice and say "Spoilers, sweetie!"

Haha all day! That gif has been up in my room so many times, but I must admit I kind of love seeing it every time! :)

*goes off to practice River Song voice"

Damn it! Doctor Who stop making me weepy. If you want to hear Rory's later to his dad click here. It is an unshot scene from "Angels Take Manhattan" that they didn't shoot.

I came here to post that.

So sad.

How does a time traveler married to another time traveler move on in a relationship, especially when your first wife will still show up in your life even after she dies? This looks to be a very interesting season.

YES!

I'm so excited for the new series now!
I'm always skeptical of how well they're going to do when a character leaves, then they show the new one and it's always great!

hell. yes. The Christmas special was fantastic, and "what about River?" was the first thing I wondered when Oswin started making kissy face with the doctor. She's hot as hell, but do you really want a pissed off River Song on your back?

I can just see it now. River, hair a mess, charging into the TARDIS screaming "SWEETIE?! Who the fuck is this?"

Unless of course time lords are cool with that kind of thing.
Best case scenario: 3 way. Two timelords + adorable immortal girl + sex = best porn evar?

Watching the show on Netflix for it's my woman's favorite show and so it's my duty to give it a chance and to know what she's talking about. I am about a season and a half in, I'm glad it got better and I do like the show on it's own merits and not just because of my woman. However, the first episode with the mannequins was ROUGH. I am now at the episode where Rose is stuck in the other dimension and saying bye to the Doctor, am I alone in not liking her and glad this is happening? So far everyone I talk to asks me how I could not like her.

I hate david tennat as the doctor, so no I don't find it strange. My favourite companion is still Martha Jones in season 3/4. She is gorgeous and a great character.

Rose is the worst companion in the new series as far as I am concerned. Every one after her has been so much better.
