So to reiterate...the new "Harlem Shake" videos you're finding on YouTube are not the REAL Harlem Shake. The real Harlem Shake is actually a pretty cool-looking dance. Check out the videos I posted in my previous post, and enjoy! *I couldn't edit that post anymore*

I agree it should be called something else and it is so stupid imo LOL but I do have to say the girl who said thats some jersey shit...... noone from jersey would dance like that either lol

I don't go to forums often enough it seems. It took me forever to find the quote button. Anyways, I saw that video you quoted a while ago. I thought there reactions were somewhat understandable, but some of them simply overreacted. "The Harlem Shake is a way of life." I laughed so hard at that statement, then I sighed. If you haven't looked up the Harlem Shake meme, you should. It's quite funny/interesting/weird/...

I think this new "Harlem Shake" thing looks ridiculous and needs a DIFFERENT name, but it's not something I'm gonna be furious about. I kinda feel a little sorry for the people of Harlem though, because here are a bunch of New Yorkers who are proud of their hometown (the famous Apollo theater is in Harlem also), and were known for an awesome dance called the Harlem Shake. And then years later, here comes this new silly-looking dance which is now also being called 'The Harlem Shake'.
It kinda sucks because I imagine some people who aren't familiar with the 2001 edition of The Harlem Shake (G-Dep/Puff Daddy/etc.) probably laugh about this NEW thing and think Do they really dance like that in Harlem? LAME!

I know Harlem Shake is old news, but it still makes me laugh and this EXACT idea just crossed my mind! Lots of MCF girls crazy costumes Harlem Shake....this could be amazing. If not Harlem Shake maybe something else with a ton of cams open like that. I wonder if something like this has ever been done.
