Guys, as in, tippers. Onlyfans -- you tip me $100, I get $80 and then have to wait nine days to receive it in my bank account, and pay taxes on it on top.

Simple question. No need to talk about other payouts on sites that aren't OF.

Is it not still money going from the tippers account to yours? Takes nine days. Bummer. Nothing wrong simple budget planning. Build multiple revenue streams perhaps?

Oh hunny. I believe you are missing the point. OP is annoyed with subs/followers trying to use other methods of payment on the site they are communicating on with.

And can confirm its fucking annoying to have people trying to use other methods of payment as if they are doing you a favor.

You joined this forum over a year ago, and decided to make this your first post? LOL. Oh, dear…..

This user did not know about the 9 day wait, the 20% cut for OF I did know, and taxes is something between you and the IRS.

Counter question: Do models know that in order for a user to tip you $100 they have to pay the $100 + any VAT (value added tax) their country has, at least it is so in the EU. In my case that means 25% added to the $100, so $80 in your pocket is $125 out of mine.

I am not satisfied with how I frased this.
What I meant was that if I tip for some content you provided to me I would assume that you calculated the cost to include your tax, and if I just tip you as a gift your potential tax on that tip does not enter my mind, mainly because I don't know what info OF shares with your tax authorities, whether they report all of your transaction to the tax authorities or you have to report them yourself.

Well sweetheart. A question was asked and an answer given. I’m sorry you found my response humorous. I don’t use “other” forms of payment on any website. I am a regular tipper on both OF and CB.

Ok so given that, why would someone push to tip on OF instead of a token site?

This will depend on where you live, but if you’re US based all adult sites report your income to the IRS

In other countries I know that OF does give over earning info when requested (specifically this recently happened in a European country)

Independent contractors in the US are 1099 employees. That means that the company will submit a 1099 to the IRS that states how much they paid you. Then you must self report the same amount with a matching 1099

Yes and your answer missed the point. Its cool. :)

Basically if the model is on CB there will be members who request for OF to pay. Another form of payment...

This is what I was getting at, why the "but I won't buy tokens" but I want content from the token site and tip on OF. Just seems weird to me.

Is it solely the idea that they tipped 100$ on OF instead of "losing" on a token site?

If it supposedly doesn't matter to the tipper, why not do what is best for the model?

And now I have successfully confused myself. 😂

Because most users don't do the calculation is my guess. But I also assume that many does not know that OF takes a 20% cut from models, but they know that CB takes a cut.

I did the math a while back, if I want a model to have $100 it will cost me $156.25 on OF, on CB a 2025 token package is $159.99, so the difference is not enough to buy a cup of coffee.

Oh hey, that's a lot smaller of a difference than I actually thought. Thanks for the info and giving me the idea to do the calculations myself to see my personal situation 👍

To be clear the result would probably be different for you, unless you also pay 25% VAT. My calculation is this: $100 to the model, OF takes 20%, so I should buy $125, add 25% VAT and end up paying OF $156.25 (100*1,25*1,25=156.25)

Keep in mind (as is the point of a few posts in this thread) that the OF payment is only $80, and the 2000 tokens is the full $100 to the model.

(assuming bam is paying the extra 56.25 on the OF purchase in VAT)

ahh, I should have waited a few more minutes before posting! :D

it's moreso to have a more accurate idea about how the math looks for different individuals that support me on both sites [and potential impact on pricing some of my things on OF).

The VAT amounts differing based on location definitely makes things a little trickier, but probably still a good idea for me to run some numbers 😊

Quick trick.

[Price] times .8 = what you will be paid.

100 x .8 = 80

You want $100 flat for you? Charge $125.

Average VAT in the EU is 21,5%, it ranges from 17% to 27%, but most are in the 20-22% range

I would never live in one of those countries that's like Denmark or Sweden or something where you pay like +40% in taxes and then on top of that you got to pay a 25% vat?
I don't know man, I'm an American and I am already taxed to the point of death. Just different ways countries rail you for income. I'd happily pay a VAT if we could eliminate the IRS LOL

The VAT on cam stuff is relatively new, yes? Sort of a "sin tax."

Anecdata: had a boss move to the US from Denmark for a start up venture. When the company was finally somewhat able to stand on it's own without him being a babysitter, he said fuck this bullshit, abandoned citizenship pathways and went back to Denmark.

He hated EVERYTHING about our tax system. Because there are so many ways to be quadruple taxed on things. Denmark is just straight up.

How? You sure you got the country right?

Edit: unless he was planning to live in Denmark again then yeah definitely don't want us citizenship
I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. Sheesh. LOL I was the only employee and in charge of his immigration paperwork, working with Homeland Security right after 9/11.

2024 my effective total tax rate on income was 33,4%, but consider that then I don't have to pay for health insurance and a lot of other things that comes on top of the taxes in the US....

...and could not live in a place where the price I saw on the shelf in the store was not the price I had to pay at the register. ;)

Also what @Vixxen81 said sounds perfectly reasonable to me, when I hear about Americans spending a long time doing their taxes I think why? I t takes me about 10 minutes...if the log in process is slow.

Yes it is, and it is the reason why I don't really use OF, only to further support my favorite model. And the funny thing is I don't pay VAT on buying tokens on CB
